181pl
8A- No clear favorite. Each region has real contenders. Winter Park and Apopka; Osceola, Vero, and Dr. P; Miramar and Deerfield; Columbus and Belen Jesuit; Should be the most wide open bracket. 7A- STA still the favorite, but I could see any of the following group winning if STA falters: Lee, Columbia, Viera, Lakeland, Plant, TBT, Venice, Braden River. 6A- Region 4 Champ is the favorite, but there are contenders from everywhere, including: St. Augustine, Crestview, Armwood, LG, Mainland, Central, Da West, Naples, N. Ft. Meyers. Gotta favor Da West, Central, and Armwood, but you never know. 5A- Heritage should have this on lock, but they could get a challenge from the Rock (Rockledge) or from the West Florida/Godby group, but pretty unlikely.

You listed armwood twice lol Also in north of 5a you also have bolles and tca In south you also have jones and cardinal gibbons but i agree on 8a being most open bracket 8a may not be the most top heavy but there no doubt which is the deepest class
181pl
5A-8A are all fairly deep. If you took away STA and Heritage, everything would be wide open.

954gator
How the hell is Cardinal Gibbons vs Orlando Jones a first round game in 5A? That's 2 of the best 3 in that class. Fl playoffs are a mess. Gibbons might be out first round lol.

These are two of the best 4 teams in 5A playing in the first round of the playoffs. Unbelievable!

If it were in Broward County, I would take Gibbons. But at home, I think Jones has at least a 50/50 chance of beating them. The winner would probably get Rockledge. That would also be a great round 2 game.

But Jones has at least equivalent athletes.

Gibbons has the coaching advantage, but Jones with the home field. Jones is loaded with athletes, and although their schedule as a whole has been weak, they have had some impressive games. Would you take Vanguard over Norland or Jones in a pickem? Hard to say with a lot of these teams even Jones to be honest.
