AHP needs to get past Gibbons, but has pole position.   Armwood would look in good shape if they run the table.  Not sure Venice (if they run the table) can pass a MC or MNW state champ as choice 2 FL if the committee needs 2 FL.  8A, 4A seem unlikely.  Viera winning state would be a nice resume also (only loss OT to Cocoa).

8A state winner and likely Cocoa need some upsets (especially in 6A) to get attention.

Cocoa hurt their chances with their loss to Rockledge. In 8A, if Vero Beach or Winter Park or Osceola wins out and are champs with undefeated records, then a case could be made for one of them.

I think it all depends on who else is going. I'm not sure about any other states approving it yet. Not even the ones who attended last year.

I think AHP is the top choice if they win state, but last year AHP couldn't even attend last year because a conflict in scheduling. So it's gonna be a wait and see thing.

Plus Val-Dookie went last year as an unranked team because Grayson refused a once in a lifetime trip to 100 players and coaches. And Chandler had 1 or 2 losses as well.

So if the top choices from Florida don't pan out, they will take a 1 loss state champ like Cocoa or multiple loss champ like STA or the 6A winner.

If they held it at Martin Stadium in Valdosta...Lowndes could probably participate.  And...they'd stomp a mudhole in whomever they played.

A MUDHOLE !!!!!

Rufus>>

How bout lowndes not be such cheap b******* and travel

They got the money if they are who they claim to be they will take the challenge

Lowndes would not stomp a mudhole in STA, Armwood, Central, NW, or AHP.  Would be good games for sure. Lowdnes looks like a very good team. But they aren't putting 52 on Any of those squads like they did to Coldcut.

Armwood ain't winning 6a so it won't be them

My guess is whoever wins out of MNW/central or AHP or maybe Osecola/venice/viera/lakeland if they win out Being considered

If it comes down to an undefeated choice Venice vs. 8A, I think Venice gets the nod.   Armwood would be tough to exclude winning state undefeated also.   Assuming AHP wins out but doesn't accept, in this scenario I think 8A gets the 3rd spot here.

If national ranking trumps undefeated, then it gets that much harder for a possible 8A champ imo.   Viera, MNW and MC in play.

That's the key thing

Not all top teams will accept so they don't have to be undefeated to go just win state and there will be consideration

Agree on Venice if they win over STA and Viera.

Armwood will not win 6A. They have put up more impressive teams against the Miami North powers in the past and failed. This year will be no different.

Armwood is always over ranked

They are solid but would have 4 or 5 losses with the schedule of MNW or Miami Central or other South Florida powers

Four or five may be a little much. But they would certainly lose more than a couple. In the early 2000s, Armwood had two or three really good teams that would have beaten almost anyone in Florida. To me it's amazing that they have been able to live off those years for well over a decade despite getting exposed, time and time again, in the state title game, if not before.

Well MNW played img,  central, Carol City and Miami Norland

Central played img,  bishop Gorman, MNW, Carol city and Miami Norland

I think it's possible any of the teams listed could defeat armwood

Other than AHP who is viable? IMG doesn't count. Everyone else will have some losses unless STA goes to sleep against Venice and Venice wins out.

WHY would AHP be viable? They could have EASILY LOST to a team that Colquitt put a RUNNING CLOCK on! Wonder how many crying rooms and safe houses you turds would need, if a 12-3 Colquitt, went down there a kicked the shit outta AHP?:)
