yep, anything over this and you need a drug.

https://www.webmd.com/hypertension-high-blood-pressure/news/20171113/definition-of-high-blood-pressure-drops#1

Big Pharma stocks will skyrocket.

What a freakin' country.

Everyone is in bed with everyone as the masses consume the porn, I mean dope, I mean drug, I mean "medication."

I wonder how long big Pharma has been pushing this. I wonder how long it took to pull this off?

I wonder how many Americans will challenge their doctor when he reaches for a script?

Don't forget your flu shot!

1. I wonder whether there are international standards for HBP interpretation and if so, what they are?

2. I have never had a flu shot in my adult life and the last time I had the flu, I was in my early 20s back in 1980.

We live in times when the well being of our citizens is severely compromised. And the sad thing is, very few of us recognize this.

Thus we debate a number of things on message boards from polar opposite perspectives without every expecting a resolution while our common problems go unattended to.

But this, too, will pass, as the current situation is not tenable.

Just finished my annual physical last week BP was 118/80 lost 31 lbs from last years physical and resting pulse was 56 last year 75.  Increased Cardio to minimum of 45 mins a day and lift every other day eating at least 8-9 servings of veges/fruits and consuming half body weight in ozs of water.  Over age 50 and Blood glucose was fine as well.  In all seriousness if you are a man go get your annual Wellness Check done.   It can save your life.

British guidelines for HBP:

They are closer to where we were without the adjustment. Not sure whether they will adjust their's, too.

why would they? we consume 80% of all dope, I mean, drugs, I mean medications.

They will not be as strongly "courted" as our esteemed medical leaders.

Just like Big Pharma continues to be upset that they won't recommend the flu shot.

The USA and Canada, the only two countries on the globe that recommend it.

You just can't make this stuff up.

That's great sir but that doesn't mean there isn't anything below the surface.  Still get your annual wellness check done sir.  I have a friend who was feeling fine no problems last years physical was fine 2 months ago diagnosed with Prostrate cancer. The annual physical is the only reason he found out about it.

havent had a physical in 10 years. Everyone is afraid of stuff. Let your life take its course. You are meant to die when your meant to die. its not about how long your life is its about what you did while your here. Im not afraid of the end. One day it will come and we all have to accept it

Good 2 Go an hopefully you go another 10 and relay the same info.   We all will die, but lifestyle will go along way in determining when that occurs.  Glad you are not afraid of death and hopefully you are an inspiration to many.   Peace be with you.  I still advise my friends to go get checked.  Like most men you advocate not doing it.

I assume you mean he had an elevated PSA? And yet that test is not well regarded in relation to complications that result from further testing and how often further testing turns out to be of benefit.

glad it was the right thing for your friend.

This recommendation is really on thin ground I believe.  There are contradictory studies in various populations.  I really believe it is a bad recommendation for elderly patients and will increase episodes of low BP and passing out with risk of injury.  May increase risk of stroke due to decreased cerebral blood flow in older patients.  There has been a push on this for quite a while, but real world practice may be different than what goes on in trials.  People often get to age 80-90 for one major reason - their doctor did not kill them.

Not gonna knock people who go and get done what needs to get done. That is their right to make sure their body is healthy and they feel as good as they can at all time. I dont suggest to anyone not to go to a doctor. I personally choose not too and thats my choice

You are so right on the PSA.  I am in a dilemma right now.  My PCA did not offer the testing after questioning nor the Digital exam.   The ACA still recommends it.  He of course is like man get it done.  I know many have had unnecessary surgeries because not all elevated  PSA's are Prostrate cancer.    At least you are up to speed as usual.

exactly correct

I think 150 over 90 has been the standard for 60 year old plus folks

I don't think I saw a doctor from the time I finished childhood diseases until I was 45. Not uncommon.

I recommend people go BUT take ownership of the process. Few people do. Conversely, many doctors are not confident enough to allow this.

However, I can pretty much assure you, you are best off so doing.

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard, either from you or anyone else.

(I mean that in the nicest way, however)

In your world every one has a predetermined date of death.  Thus I can just walk in front of that 18-wheeler coming down the road wih no worries, eh?

Of course, when I inevitably die you will say “oh, it was his time.” Assinine.

No im saying outside of walking off a cliff or in front of a truck or anything like that you are gonna die at some point. At some point for whatever reason we are all gonna die. Some people live long some people dont. Everyone tries to run around and prolong what is gonna happen. the whole point of it was basically im not afraid of it. when it comes it comes

This isn’t making your point any better.  Of course we are all going to die.  Sometime.

The point is there are things one can do to push that time farther into the future, like eating properly and getting regular checkups.

No one has a “time” to die.  If you eat tons of junk food, drink to excess, drive like an asshole, and neglect health care you are going to die sooner than someone who doesn’t do that stuff.

At age 30, or whatever you are, you probably still have the “I’m invincible attitude.”  As you age, though, more and more you will find yourself looking mortality in the face and start to wish you had taken better care of yourself.

No i dont have that attitude but i have accepted that at some point i am gonna die whether that be today tomorrow or 40 years from now i am ok with it. People in this world just seem so afraid of it.
