This song means about the same today as it meant in the late 60's early 70's.

Someone added images from today to the song. Pretty cool from a left wing whacko perspective.

President Trump is certainly trying to do a lot more for the Vets. They deserve all the help they can get. I actually know one of the guys in the Wounded Warrior Project commericals. Grew up with his whole family. http://www.oann.com/trump-helps-vets-with-new-executive-order/

This song isn't all about vets.

It covers A LOT of ground. I think it's on about the more things change the more they stay the same.

Trump is all for sending more folks to die, but, his kids aren't in the front seat of the bus are they now?

I havent heard of more deployments have you? Mattis has been quiet on any big deployments.

No politician sends their kids not just Trump. Politicans usually come from money and money keeps you out of the military unless you are completely about that lifestyle which is great. Who were they sending to Nam?? Wasnt the rich college bound students we all know that

Everyone talks about minimum wage...Its not supposed to support you and a family. Why doesnt any politician bring up the personal responsibility factor?? because it would probably be political suicide to tell families not to have kids due to their income. People in this country would have an uproar and feel that the government would be completely intrusive in that manner

The war hawk politicians that talk the biggest don't send their kids.

I'm pretty sure if they did, they wouldn't talk so big. ;)

I think we do know. Joe Biden's son went to Iraq in the military.

I'm pretty sure you didn't hear Joe war hawking though.

As far as minimum wage goes, yep, it's addressed. Mainly in the context of many jobs are only paying that. No one can make it on that. Period. We can hem haw around about personal responsibility and what minimum wage was meant to do all day long. The fact  and point of the song is, the billionaires look out for billionaires and keep the poor intentionally poor.

That is correct. I forgot about Bidens son.

We cant all be the same. Work harder. Invest better. Idk. People in this country just complain about everything. Never complacent. Never happy with the little things. I will never be a millionaire. I will probably never make 100k a year. Ill be lucky if I ever see 70k a year. Thats just the nature of the beast. But people constantly want more. They make 50k not enough. They make 100k not enough. They make 200k not enough. You get my drift. Why cant people just be happy with what they have?? If your not happy working at McDonalds then go back to school or whatever you gotta do to get out of there. Some people you simply cant help im not that crazy. But people really need to start being happy with whatever they have. Jealosy runs rampant in this country. Society is not built equal. Will never be equal. Accept it and move on.

I get that sentiment. It's intended that way though. Everything is set up to depart us from our treasures bro. Everything. No matter how small our treasure is, the set up surrounding us is intended to remove it from us.

We are supposed to want more. T.V. commercials tell us so.

The poorest folks barely or can't pay the bills while the guy making 40k just wants what the guy making 100k has, and that guy wants what the next guy has. At the crux of it all is the billionaire pinching you off crumbs and then making tv commercials tricking you into spending the crumbs back on his wares. xD

I dont watch commercials. I dont get caught up in their advertisements. They are not gonna sell me anything or entice me to go out and buy something that is not on my spending budget.

Idk I have a very different mentality. There is nothing people can do to get me to want the things they are trying to sell me. I make 1 somewhat big purchase every 3 years when I lease my car and I already know where to go and what car to get.

If everybody had that mentality, what would our economy be like?

How do you create more jobs if you don't systematically make more people want more stuff?

We don't make stuff as good now intentionally as well. 30 years ago a refrigerator lasted 20 years. Today they last 7-10 years maybe. Creating jobs.

Pay people less, make them want more, make the stuff cheaper. It's all by design.

I have no idea what the economy would be like. Im just speaking in terms of what I do. I make sure I always have 3-4 TV shows line up and i jump back and forth to avoid all commercials. I go out to local restaurants and bars(mostly bars) I try my best to stay out of chain restaurants. I agree appliances dont last nearly as long or work as well. Thats what happens when they are made of plastic in China lol. But i certainly dont covet what they are trying to sell me.

I know this...I drive my dad nuts when he tries to watch TV with me...I have tv channels flipping im on my phone looking at twitter lol. I always make sure im doing something to avoid all commercials.
