It Appears MaxPreps Thought That...

MaxPreps definitely has a lot of mistakes throughout.

I mean, I guess any publication is prone to some errors, but, they really have some errors across multiple teams all throughout their site and throughout the year. It's pretty bad when guys on here refrain from sourcing them due to the number of errors in schedules, scores and etc.

I go there for roster information at times, and have been guilty of following along with their box scoring and official scorer posts during live games when I'm at a game myself and can't be bothered to stream or whatever. I like that they have that feature, but, you have to trust that the in game scorers are being honest. It's better when each team involved has an official scorer.

As far as referencing the win/loss records and sometimes even schedules, I usually try to confirm through other sources.

I generally use scorestream or twitter or a live stream if I'm lucky to find one

Same here, but, I have a voracious appetite for what's going on and sometimes reading live posts is better than just seeing the scores or whatever.

Many sites update slowly. The drawback to that feature at MaxPreps is not every game has live scoring, as sometimes teams don't have official scorers.
