To get Allen to travel out of state would probably require a $100,000 plus payout.  They figure the amount of money lost for not having a home game and the travel costs.

Nobody else loses money for a home game? $100,000 should be front pocket money for Allen. Broke school like Hoover can fly to Dallas. But Texas schools can't do it.

Find out how much Hoover made.

Money made on football for Allen supports all the other programs

NICE TRY, BUT! They DON'T play TEN HOME Games! And they get NOTHING for an away game in TEJAS!xD

I am not from Texas but I have been to Allen and Southlake Carroll to games.

Regarding Allen:

Ten regular season games.

Seven district games.  They have to play those seven games and have nothing to do with out of state opponents.

Three non district, all played at home.  This is where an out of state game could be added into the schedule.

It is not unrealistic at all for Allen to bring in well over $100,000 in ticket sales and concession profits for a non district home game.  Net profit may only be $60 to $70,000 but the loss of that profit plus the cost to travel is going to most likely surpass $100,000 easily.

I spoke with Rush about the Hoover travel schedule during his time there.  He told me they had to hustle for advertising to cover their guarantee to ESPN to get the game aired.  If I remember correctly they got the state or local government to take out some ads for tourism and economic development.  He told me the season before he left that he wanted to travel to California, New Jersey, and Texas for big out of state matchups.  He wanted to push out of the south.  They had played in Oklahoma plus Ohio with the rest of the OOS games being played or scheduled for Southern teams.

Hoover was trying to build their brand much like Bobby Bentley would follow with Byrnes (SC).  I don't think Allen is in that category.  Byrnes gave the entire gate to ESPN to televise their first game on the network in 2005.  It was a Saturday game and was turned into a family style event that started with a fair like setup around 9am.  The opponent was Glades Central and they may have brought a few hundred fans at most.  12,000 paid $10 each and season tickets were not honored.

Like with GA, I stick to recommending home game opptys when presenting OOS options to the TX publics.

Its with this in mind that Allen will be hosting a Top 75 team on 9/7/18.

So TX could have a solid OOS schedule:  IMG, SJC and a west coast public top 75

1st we say show us a picture of the stadium we will be playing in. 2nd we ask are we playing by Pop Warner rules or College rules.  Our answers we are not gonna travel and play by Pop Warner rules in a 2A stadium.  No thanks.  We like running kicks out of the End zone, chop blocking and big crowds you know Big Boy 🏈.  Tell Massachusetts to invite us they play by college rules. 😋. TAPPS play in smaller stadiums they will happily travel.  Hell one went to Ireland a few years back.  They keep trying to get Allen, Katy, LT types they have no reason to travel.  Invite Longview, North Shore. ET I bet those types will travel including Desoto.

Fact of the matter - Most OOS teams would rather travel to Texas than to play us at home.

This is actually is partly true.  A lot of teams do want to travel there to get the "Texas HSFB experience".  But still that means you can't have a 2 year contract with them for a home and home since they would never leave the state.

And you don't think that home games in Georgia won't give you that TEJAS sperience?xD HELL, according to Elbert Co., THEIR Granite Bowl Stadium holds more than ALLEN'S! And they are AAA! And the stands are right on top of the field, like COLQUITT'S HOG PEN!:)

I think if you did a poll on which experience you would rather have Tejas would win in a landslide.
