On2whls
This Saturday, the Polynesian Bowl takes place in Hawaii. Players get free air fare and room for a week, and many make it into a family vacation. Most players of "islander" descent. Hawaii well represented, but guys from MD, BG, SJB, DLS, some TX, UT, guys a few from the Midwest and couple East Coast guys.

This may take over the Army All American in 10 years as the biggest All Start game... ”hey mom, want to go with me to Hawaii for a week all expenses paid or San Antonio?” 🤔

It’s a no brainer.
Nolebull813
This game is not all expenses paid. You have to fork out $2,000 for this "invite only" scam. These types of events are cash grabs. Charging parents to overcompensate and make themselves feel better that little Johnny is an "All American" not saying the game won't be good or doesn't have studs who payed, but this game is a first come first serve anyone with $2K gets to play!

Nolebull813
I understand it costs a lot of money for airfare and lodging but that's how they get you. The people who run this are like the KSA Events in Orlando. They are travel agencies that get you to go on some expensive trip and use the football game as the reward for spending all the money. The all star game is the reward for forking out $2K on travel expenses that you and your family would have never spent if there was no all star game. And the people running the game get money from sponsors and tickets sales, parking, concession etc. It's a good business model as long as there are people who spend the money to feel special
