In 2004 Alabama had a back up plan in place.

I had forgot about this till today while talking to a former coach. In 2004 Hurricane Ivan came ashore in Gulf Shores. That week no games were played. It caused the playoffs to be moved back a week. Did the AHSAA crap the bed like the GHSA did? No, the state title games  were scheduled for the first weekend of December.  With everything being pushed back a week they were then set for the 2nd weekend of December instead of the first weekend.  Problem was, the SWAC title was already taken for the 2nd weekend. Unlike the GHSA, the AHSAA had a back up plan in place . They used the Hoover Met for 4 of the 6 games.  2 were played at Legion Field Thursday(including Hoover's 22-7 win over Prattville), 2 Friday at The Met, and 2 Sat at the Met.  All still at a neutral site, no cancelling games hours before kick off, 10s of thousands of fans blowing money for nothing,  moving dates to days nobody could attend at schools all over the state, not refunding money, paying for 4 games and only getting 1,  holding games at illegal stadiums,  and the most dumbass thing of all, having a dome and bragging about being to play indoors then not even using it.

These plans were in place before the season started.  The AHSAA did not assume everything was going to go perfect.  Common sense was used by the AHSAA - something on short supply in the offices of the GHSA.

By the way in the same snow storm Alabama played outdoors in Bryant Denny and the GHSA would not play inside in the  most state of the art stadium on the planet.

The great fans and schools of Ga. should demand better leadership from the GHSA.

Allowing the GHSA to continue is  like having Gomer Pyle in charge of the American army during the battle of the bulge instead of Patton.
