yeah, word is Servite's administration doesn't want to invest in the football program as much anymore. Lots of kids and coaches are leaving.

Oh wow that's crazy. Well I saw the news on Twitter and figured I'd share. Servite seems like a proud program. Why not invest in it?? Sounds like a dumb decision on admin part

Gotcha. Did anyone know that the servite coach was leaving like did you guys hear rumblings

There are rumblings at any Trinity league school when teams fall short winning championships. The expectations in the Trinity are unrealistic. Servite was a very good team last season and was competitive with Olu, Santa Margarita and JSerra. They came extremely close to beating Mission Viejo in the first round of D1 playoffs.

Despite what some of you on this board may think of Servite, it is a very high profile coaching position. But it comes with unrealistic expectations from fans and alumni and a rigid administration (which is admirable!) that makes competing with MD and Bosco virtually impossible.

I knew servite was like a proud program but wow sounds like a no win situation

I have never fully understood why the MD Servite rivalry really never developed the way other great HS rivalries have.

Both have IMO less than ideal facilities plucked in the middle of lower income neighborhoods that can be questionable to roam the streets at night yet both are equally ranked at a very high academic level. Talking with alumni from either school is virtually the same. ( I live exactly the same distance from each campus and know a lot of the alums from both schools )... yet MD has flourished for the most part over the decades and Servite, with the exception of a few spurts, has languished in mediocrity relative to MD.

Can anyone who is more familiar than I with both schools explain? Sammy, Steeler, anyone?

If he takes over again, hope he does well. Next year will be tough but can be as bad as his team last year

Oh snap. Seriously, though, were numbers and talent the reason for lack of success at Crespi? Now that SJB and MD loom large in the Trinity, will TT be able to climb to the top. My early prediction is no

I don't think the expectations are to get involved with the Transfers and recruiting that SJB and MD are doing.  Those schools are aberations to the norm.   Servite wants to win, but will not sell out to that level.  The goal is to improve the incoming freshmen football classes annually, and keep the kids for (4) years.

The W/L  expectation will be to compete successfully with the rest of the Trinity league and Mission league teams.
