How long can Texas hold out before privates become the IT place to play? Honest question.

Im not from Texas but even I know the answer to this.

Not any time soon unless its a UIL private.

And even then Texas has a super Chokehold on privates designed to keep it from becoming like the Socal transfer clusterfuck...

Then how do you explain 4/10 senior players in TX being from privates? 2 from Dallas area (BD) and 2 from Houston (SP).

Coincidence,Luck I didnt say they had no transfers.

I said Texas has a chokehold on Privates.

Also BD is a Tapps School.

I meant to so Tapps in the first place...

UIL probably wouldnt allow that to happen.

However Dallas Jesuit and Strake Jesuit are in Good areas to get Athletes.

May have already started. Per Rivals, four out of the top 10 seniors in the state are private players. Plus the TAPPS are the only teams in the state that venture out to play OOS. Major feature/benefit that the power publics can't compete with.

To take it to the next level, these schools will need to upgrade their coaching staffs and that requires money.  Trying to create a market (money flow) outside of the UIL will be challenging.

The privates don't need the UIL. Like in other states, there will always be families that prefer that their baller sons attend smaller, more personal, academics-first, religious-based high schools. In the DFW area alone, several privates had solid records last season and are sending many quality players onto the next level.

Prestonwood Christian 12-2

All Saints 11-1

Bishop Lynch 12-1

Bishop Dunne 6-5 (beat Top 200 Fayetteville AR)

It'll never matter that these teams can't compete with the much larger, football-first, power publics. They're not supposed to. Their long-term goals are much different.

No, that's not what I mean.  they are competing with the UIL and with their fan base, that is what will be the challenge, generating interest in TAPPS football.

The Boyd Broncos of McKinney, TX are the latest TX program to register with Prep Gridiron Logistics!!! Welcome!!!

That's my Hood and we have a heckuva Stadium being built off Custer and 121. We are one of the top 3 fastest growing cities in the U.S. and the teams are getting better.

CE Bryd (Shreveport) was 5-5 last year. When they have the players they run one of the best Double Wings in the nation though.

Since 2004 they are (5-2) in OOS games.

2017: beat Moss Point, MS

2016: beat a good Longview, TX team

2014: beat El Dorado, AR

vs Marshall, TX (2-2)

Bishop Dunne vs CE Bryd should be competitive..

I think one of them needs to beat a 6A Power.  I agree with TexasBall they are equal to our top 4A teams and no one gives them Credit.  Prestonwood Christian is one of the best TAPPS teams in the State on most occasions  They won TAPPS DI.  Look at this finished 12-2 beat Liberty Christian 14-7 the week before 4A Power Gilmer 60-7 over L.C.   And Liberty Christian split with Bishop Dunne and all that Talent.  Those TAPPS guys don't want anything to do with Carthage, WOS GIlmer and Celina is neck and neck with them each year in games all 4A powerhouses.   I am glad they venture OOS it proves how good I keep saying TX 4A is at the top.

Won't happen any time soon.  They don't have the coaching to create a team capable of that.  They need to attract the better coaches, but they are getting paid in the UIL.
