FL dominated that list. Wow.

4 names I recognized from track were Campbell and Schwartz from AHP,  Rincher (not a football power) and Shivers (Chaminade-Madonna)... they all had strong 100's last year.  Rincher can motor and is a FSU track and field commit.   Schwartz will be a dual sport athlete at Auburn.  I'm guessing Shivers is going to also try the dual sport thing at Auburn.  The only one I'm guessing who won't run track at the next level will be Tyson Campbell (but he certainly could with his track credentials).

Well, I couldn't help but notice a couple of Louisiana guys in there, and no Texas guys.

Kind of some strange X-Files or Twilight Zone stuff going on here lately. Bizarro World man!

We have a Folsom chest thumper calling out DLS after Folsom getting rolled a few times already. We have Lousiana players faster than Texas players in the Opening top 20 and a New Jersey guy posting the list.

Things are Strange all over!

This was in 2017 February that they ran this.   The group in Houston ran outside in 55 degree weather and all kids didn't run the 40 at all these events. I keep up with Track here.   A lot of the FL kids didn't run the 40 either.  The Orlando group was the fastest overall and impressive.   If you think Texas is slow I will take the top 10 TX 4x100 times and bet their avg's  against the top fastest 4x100 in the Nation's avg time for $100.00 right now.

10 Kids run under 4.59 or under in cool weather the fastest was Tommy Bush with a 4.47 from Samuel Clemens. Quite a few fast skill kids didn't run the 40.  You can see the results here for Houston.

Tommy BushWR Samuel Clemens - TX 4.47

Brennan Eagles WR Alief Taylor - TX 4.51

Zac Martin LB Richmond Travis - TX 4.54

Ethan Bonner DB The Woodlands - TX 4.55

Naveon Mitchell RB Richmond Travis - TX 4.55

In Dallas   The top 4 was all OOS.   Several fast kids didn't run the 40 here as well for some reason.  It was held inside in Frisco at the star.    If you think a QB Barfield from El Paso is the fastest kid in Dallas Tx  that day in the 40 you are crazy as hell.  He ran the fastest time 4.50 xD

I wonder if the UIL has made sure they make their players look fast by "adjusting" the clock.  Lol.  Do they tell their coaches count 1 Mississippi before starting their clocks. LOL!!!  Otherwise if they really are fast then why is TX not all over that list?

No the Florida kids in Orlando showed out no doubt.  I didn't check out the other area's.    An El Paso QB  wink wink  ran the fastest time of the Texas kids in Dallas.  I will assure you his ass will not be on any list when the 6A Region 1 track finals go down. :D The L.A. kids did will in SoCal

Serious question Hoss...

Why do you almost exclusively talk about 4x100 times?

In track like the 4x400 it denotes Depth.  You must have 4 horses.  Most schools take AHP for example in Florida. They have some serious speed with football guys who might not run on their 4x100 but that team will still be among the fastest in the Nation.  When you see a school with 4 kids running 42.00 in under in HS that tells me that is a School with a lot of speed.  Not about football I mean fast kids.  Take Desoto they start the season with 3 relay teams and often times their 3rd team have made finals in relays.  You will see most elite HS Football teams will also run in the 42's and under.  Believe me Ga. have some great 4X100 HS relays and IMHO are only behind TX and Fl.   Not about the fastest kid.  Hell Utah can have the fastest kid in the 100 or 200.

Is it ironic the 4 fastest states in no particular order,  FL, TX, CA, GA.  Are magically the 4 best in football.  The 4 strongest schools in America in weightlifting don't translate the same.  it makes a difference in speed states because the football kids are not only good but fast.

Lets look at Ga. I don't know who won your State Championships in Football or Track.  I am gonna see where your football champs ranked in the 4X100.  Again it shows how fast the kids are that are not on the team.  A School running 41.00 will have faster kids than a school running 42.5's and that is not the football guys. Just fast as football playersS.

Ga. 1A 4x100 Champs:  They are damn near 1 second faster than the 2nd place team.  Tells me that is one fast ass football team for that class to Handle.  By the way 42.5 is considered elite HS 4x100.   BY the way their B team finished 7th in State in 1A in Ga. Your 1A Football Champ as well.  Again I am not saying it makes you have a great team. I am saying it means you have some go getters on your team and in HS that can be a big benefit.

1 Eagles Landing Christian Acad  'A'                    42.33
     1) Eric Motes                      2) Justin Menard
     3) Sean Queen                      4) Jeffrey Uzell

Ga 2A both Screven County and Benedictine made the qtrs in Football and 3rd and 7th in 4x100.

Not gonna look at all.  Will look at the Cream of the Crop 7A in football 6A in your Track.  Not familiar with the teams. Tell me how many are good and how many suck.  I do know #2 & # 3 played each other in the 7A qtrs.

Finals
  1 McEachern HS  'A'                                     41.36
     1) Brian Evans                     2) Jaytlin Askew
     3) Tyler Simmons                   4) Sam Jackson
  2 Campbell HS  'A'                                      41.71
     1) Ray Decosey                     2) Kahj Huitt
     3) Jawan Nobles                    4) Salento Sumrall
  3 Parkview HS  'A'                                      42.16
     1) Amir Harris                     2) Justin Long
     3) Anthony Shuford                 4) Demarius Smith
  4 Pebblebrook HS  'A'                                   42.17
     1) Jevion Wilson                   2) Malik Matthews
     3) Amir Benjamin                   4) Kibren Moore

  6 Mill Creek  'A'                                       42.61

I am not saying it makes you a good football team..  Lake Travis is a beast here and not considered 4x100 elite.  I am saying it shows the depth of speed you have in schools and many of those kids are just football players.   I don't believe cuz you run fast in track you will be great. I am saying the other kids that play football at those type programs are fast as hell.  I will assure you AHP, Desoto, LBP,  and others have a boatload of go getters.  Look at La. JC. Edna Karr as examples there.   Hell PAM is the fastest here and not a top 20 program but look at the others there with them.  It's true in speed States.

Remember SJB with that speed vs. Slow ass St. Xavier Ohio.  That kids pure Track speed was the difference.  Then what happened against STA.  Here is a better example.  I am sure Cedar Hill will out run BG in the 4x100.  But if you were at that game you would have seen the speed that BG had and shut down lanes and outside runs that speed would have killed.  All the talk about the SEC and their defense is the fact that LA. GA and FL are the 3 main States for that Conference all with fast ass kids.

By the way I think Florida has the fastest HS football teams in the Nation and that is one reason why they do very well OOS against others.   I know Chandler thumped MNW this year to boot.  Chandler also had the 2nd fastest 4x100 in AZ with a 41.80 behind Mt. Pointe who ran a 41.56 elite HS Speed. A lot of damn coincidences with the depth of speed it shows at a School.   Both State powerhouses that have produced some fast football players.
