Loyola sticks out in my mind a lot, is because, they were the team that eliminated MD in the old Serra League back in 2005, Loyola should be considered lucky because Matt Barkley broke his collarbone in the playoffs, that was Barkley's freshman year at MD. Reading the various Twitter feeds of SS people complaining about some 10-0 team that got bounced in the first round like somehow there is supposed to be some sort of entitlement for them to go 11-0. Their reward is supposed to be getting to feast on some poor 5-5 team that is forced to play in a higher division because someone else in their league happens to be traditionally strong and they drag everyone else up along with them. Another way to look at this is to think long term. Logan is no longer a spring chicken. If I was consulting MD on who to hire I would start with Taylor Kelly. Upper league teams could be relegated to the lower league and vice versa. At least that’s what I heard. Haven’t seen it fully confirmed.
