Heard they had some 19 and 20 years olds one time playing a Texas team. No way to confirm it though. Someone posted it on the boards a long time ago. I think it was the team who played Stephenville. TigerHat Posted September 15, 2018 Report Share Posted September 15, 2018 The IPN team was an under 19 team. Katy's problem was how to keep the game under 100 - it was 56-0 at the half. The solution appeared after the 4th string Katy running back ripped off a long touchdown run to make it 63 - 0 - Katy cobbled together a 5th string offense: they moved the 4th string full back to running back, put a backup tight end at full back and finished the game that way. It appeared that IPN's fastest player ran about a 4.9 forty. The game got ugly fast - granted not Grayson vs Bergen Catholic ugly 😀 - but ugly enough. Sad to see Texas powers playing either really bad oos teams or no oos teams at all. I know they don't need to, but with every state in the country doing it, it would be great to see these top TX teams playing real teams. Some dolts have them in the NATIONAL top ten and the best win is 2 scores vs a non top 500 team!!!!!!! Yes tX needs to play OOS and on the road or pollsters need to stop ranking them so generously. We see this year after year in GA. Undefeated teams all over the playoffs. Then they go to a tourney we here someone has to win out. So they never get tested then someone has to win. Not exactly proving a damned thing. You had two teams that could have "proved" themselves this year. Neither did in spite of both being thought to be "great." Now you got Colquitt who took the traditional safe path, having not proved a thing but getting top 10 love. And Colquitt did no better vs Grayson than did an ordinary BC team.
