Is our Constitution killing our children?

When the Constitution was signed we had a population of almost 4 million.

Today we have a population of 324 million and a population of 8 million AR-15s.

......with 1.5 million AR-15s being produced every year.

You can buy an AR-15 today in 15 minutes.

Back in the Constitution days it might take 1 or 2 months just to make 1 musket .........or wait for it to shipped from England.

Who's crying? I don't want your AR-15!

Let us amuse that we could get rid the 2nd amendment...quick question...then what?

if the AR-15 is band, how would you get them back? would you do a forced "buy back program"? if so, what would you do about the million of rifles that would not be turned in? would you have the feds take them by forces?

Would you only band the AR-15 or every pistol grips rifle?

If you band every pistol grip rifle would you band any rifle that could have a pistol grip added to it?

Would your band all "semi-automatic" rifles too?

80% of crime is committed by "semi-automatic" hand guns. Should we band those as well?

there are over 250 million "semi-automatic" guns/rifles in the US, how do we get those back without a massive civil war?

what happened is horrible, but so were the 12 vehicle-ramming attacks that happened world wide last year (2 in the US)...if we get rid of the AR-15 should we get rid of cars too?

We DO the right thing.

The Ten Commandments were once taught in schools.

1781: Congress approves the purchase of Bibles to be used in schools.

1787: Congress passes the Northwest Ordinance which is outlines requirements for governments of new territories so they can qualify for statehood.  Article 3 of the Northwest Ordinance directs the people of the territories to establish schools "to teach religion, morality, and knowledge.”   Nearly every state admitted to the Union after this has written in their State Constitution wording that the schools are to teach morality and religion and they all use the Bible as the bases for their teachings.

1796: In Washington's Presidential farewell address to the nation he encourages America to learn Biblical teachings to sustain a moral and just country.

1802: Thomas Jefferson acting as President for Washington D.C. schools requires the Bible and the Watts Hymnal to be used in classrooms.

We have replaced the Ten Commandments with the AR-15.

The actual number of deaths caused by rifles - of any kind - is a small fraction of murders committed in any given year. Hands and knives cause many more deaths. Seoung-Hui Cho, the Virginia Tech shooter, used a couple of handguns to kill 32 people. In a closed environment like a school or office building, whether the shooter has a scary black rifle or just a handgun doesn't matter much.

Like this Cruz kid in Florida, Cho was mentally ill and the system failed.

two steps forward, one step back :(

not really...I see nothing in the constitution that prevents the government from placing limits on guns (there are countless rules and regulations around this already existing you know).  There is also nothing in the constitution that is keeping anyone from tweaking the rules further...

Place the blame where ever you feel like....but the constitution is NOT the problem or issue...

In the long run and as a whole, it is the constitution that actually is protecting 'these kids'......

Yeah, I do....maybe that will happen one day here.

I'm talking about the slaughter of our children in schools and fast eddy brings up a drunk kid crashing into some people at a parade...

You do remember 17 were mowed down just the other day or has your simple mind gone mute again and in forget mode already.

I would rather you man up and just say. "Fuck those kids, I live for the Constitution"

BUT, you opt for the pussy approach like you always do.

Not that there aren't car/truck killings in the US, but this list certainly has an international flair to it. Now with gun killings, the list would have much greater US representation. Do these auto tragedies around the world equal the number of victims killed in the US by guns?
