Today, the median income is $31,806, but the median cost of a house is $321,844." Median income has risen by less than $500 in 18 years, but the cost of everything else has gone through the roof. But, the price of housing shows not necessarily related to income, more based on demand. Those numbers are sad. The GOP advocates for a cheap labor force. As long as Republicans demand lower pay, no benefits, and cheap labor, there will be illegals cleaning your dishes, hotel rooms, and various other jobs in the fields.
