Nolebull813
Is Rome supposed to be good as the last few years? I think them vs Marietta is the best in state game on paper. I'm excited to see a lower class team take on a 7A team who is expected to do big things. If Rome can win and Marietta makes a deep run it could change the perception of the smaller classes competing.

They are suppose to be top 10 in GA... So yeah. The only real difference is Rome wont have that elite DL anymore... But the offense should actually be even better this year. 5* #1 OLB Adam Anderson, a Georgia Commit, who started at DE for Rome is gone. 3* DT Jamarcus Chatman, a FSU commit, is gone 3* SDE Jaquon Griffin , a Georgia Tech commit, is gone That was a very good DL. They return like 7 or 8 on O though. The D returns 4 or 5 I think, but it lost some really good players.
ECHS05
I agree though ... Marietta @ Rome is one of the best game in Georgia this year.
HawgGoneIt
I think the honest to goodness best game in-state this year is Colquitt @ Grayson, although the Marietta/Rome game is intriguing for the reasons listed as far as paper talent and the cross-class aspect to it. HawgGoneIt
Buford @ Archer is another of these intriguing cross-class games that fits some of the same criteria.

Yes, if we are judging directly off of paper talent alone. I guess we are left no choice than to go with that.

W-H-A-T ?????? Have you been in the LSE already? You think we have a chance against the Green Meanies? You honestly think we'll score a touchdown? You believe I'll make it up that frigging hill without a golf cart? Inquiring minds wanna know..... Rufus>>

Rufus>> @Eddyr2 inspired me to start the keto diet with his hashtags all over the place so, after 5 days, I'm thinking I'll be in pretty good shape by the time we go to Grayson, so I'll roll you up the hill in a wheelbarrow if necessary. I don't know if we have a chance against them, but I do believe we will score a touchdown.
BUFORDGAWOLVES
I'm going with Lowndes versus Colquitt, for the 100 years of hate factor that in my mind trumps "paper" talent and cross classification. However not dismissing Buford versus Archer, that will be a bellwether game as to where we need to be. I expect to win regardless, but this is uncharted waters. BUFORDGAWOLVES
Anyway to pin this, I'm going to take in some Marietta games sandwiched with must see Buford games? Definitely be at Benz for Colquitt and the October matchup versus Lowdnes. Regards, BGW

Yeah thats a good one. Im really interested in the OOS games this year ... In no particular order .... Grayson vs. Bergen Catholic NJ --- Ive fueded with NJ guys for almost 8 years now and weve never got a chance to really see NJ and GA go at it. The NJ guys were insufferable a few years ago... Some of the worse ones fell off when we left Rivals for DJs old board but still... NJs "Sig 6" isnt as "Sig" as they were, its really a Sig 3 , maybe 4 now. But theres a lot of message board history between Georgia & New Jersey... The historical factor is huge in this game. Blessed Trinity vs. St. Peter's Prep in Ireland in 2016 wasnt a game you can put any stock in. BT wasnt that good in 2016. But Grayson vs Bergen Catholic is about as good as it gets for GA vs NJ. I just hope Hunnicutt is better than I think he is. ------- Marietta @ St. John's DC --- Maryland/DC football is garnering a lot of attention lately and thats spearheaded by St. John's. SJC is Top 10 nationally in every poll Ive seen except CalPreps. This is a big one... Another Georgia vs. The Northeast game which is very rare. ---- Good Counsel MD @ Marietta ---- Good Counsel is a big name, they were always top 25 a few years back but have suffered a couple down seasons since. However, they are on the way back up... USAT and HSFA have them at 23 and 7 in their Preseason polls Nationally... Again we are treated to another Georgia vs The Northeast game. GC is always one of the top teams in the Northeast. ----- Wekiva FL vs. North Gwinnett --- yea, we see FL vs GA all the time. Idk why but Im excited for this one... Wekiva is an elite FL defense. North Gwinnett is a Top 5 GA team without a doubt in my mind. Cardinal Gibbons FL @ Milton --- this is honestly a win-win for Georgia. Expectations are that Cardinal Gibbons has their way with Milton. But Milton is a solid team and I dont see it happening. Greater Atl. Christian @ Prestonwood Christian TX --- hello, its GA vs. TX... And Prestonwood is the defending TAPPS D1 State Champ. This should be good although Prestonwood is the favorite. GAC has 2 big time 5* players ... And are always a Top 3A team in GA. Cedar Grove vs. Hewitt-Trussville AL is interesting. Glynn Academy vs Fort Dorchester SC Theres a lot of good ones.
ECHS05
Hell... Trinity Catholic MO @ Colquitt is interesting... Ive never known GA to play Missouri as long as Ive been following HSFB nationally... Which is 9 years now. Trinity Catholic is usually talented for a Missouri team, and really for ANY team that isnt considered a "Super Team" ... Im interested to see Colquitt play all these athletes from Missouri. ECHS05
I hate these polls putting Grayson #3 raising expectations for them. They are basing this all off of talent. Idk why they arent considering all the coaches Grayson lost this offseason, and the fact Hunnicutt is a new HC. Not just a new HC at Grayson, but a new HC period. And he hasnt proven a thing. Yeah, they lost 2 close games last year to 2 of the best teams in GA... But Grayson was very talented last year too and they lost. This year that talent is a year older, but they lost a lot of coaches... They are not the same Grayson from 2016 and earlier at all. This is a 100% completely new Grayson. And we dont really know their identity yet... All we know is they werent a great offensive team last year in relation to their talent level. Is that the fault of Hunnicutt? Idk. They have the talent... They just have to put it together. I realize a lot of starters and stars didnt play in the spring game vs. Stephenson.... But they still seemed to lack any offensive identity, just like last year. Ronald Thompkins HAS to stay healthy at RB for Grayson to have a successful season. Halyard is a decent back, but hes not a RB that can lead a team to a State Title. Thompkins is a game changer.

Columbiafan
So did you list all oos games or just ones involving high ranked GA teams Because that's the only way i can understand lincoln vs lowndes being listed Lowndes should beat Lincoln by 35+

Yeah, thats pretty clear. Putting them at #3 is a bit much with all the questions surrounding the coaching and QB. The potential is there... And their game with Marietta puts as many D1s on the same field as probably any game outside of Mater Dei vs St. John Bosco or Mater Dei vs IMG Academy.
