How good can Tua Tagovailoa be?

We got a sneak peek last of what he can do. He was not perfect, but keep in mind he was only a freshman.

My prediction is that as a sophomore, he will be by far and away better than any other Bama QB Saban has had.

How good can he be? Could he be a future Heisman Trophy winner? Could he be truly elite one day or never go beyond “very good”?

For what it’s worth, the Bama OL should be as good as the Tide has ever had as far as pass-blocking goes. RB depth will be the best in college football by a sizable margin (and maybe the best Bama has ever had). The receivers will be young but very good. OJ Howard and Ridley were wasted talents with Hurts at QB.

Tua is mechanically and fundamentally precise in what little I saw in the blow out win earlier in the season and at that point I said to myself.... "Self, that's a quarterback... and he looks to be better than the incumbent, a lot better".

I think the true measure will be after Tua has had a season under his belt, and the opposition has film on him.

I'm looking forward to see what he does.

GEEEEZ, you can probably see better if you take your head outta Saban's ass! Bama far and away the best backfield? HELL, they MAY not even be the best in the SEC, with Elijah Holyfield being the FIFTH best back at UGA, while Dalvin Cook's lil bro comes in at #4! Brian Herrien is #3, then they have the TWO FIVE STARS, D'Andre Swift and Zamir White,  at #1 and #2! And Tua will be Justin Field's BITCH!

UGA hadn't prepared for a dual threat QB in the Mercedes Benz Stadium! NOW, they WILL!

Hell be very good but dont get too caught up. Other teams will see tapes on him now and figure him out a little. I just read that tua and najee Harris almost transferred last year.

Chimp...Chill!!!

He plays for Bama...Not Mizzou lol

Joke aside:  Lets see what Tua does when Saban puts his ass on a leash the very moment he makes a turnover.

People wonder why Hurts is so hesitant...Tua will find out REAL soon.

Hurts is hesitant because he doesnt have the arm. And he just constantly wants to run.

He runs because he's had "don't turn the ball over" bashed into his skull so many times that's he's scared to throw.  It's not like you need the strongest of arms to run Bama's offense....Let's be real here...

Tua hasn't had the leash put around his neck like Hurts...Yet...

Did you see tua throw in OT against Georgia. Tua has the arm to do that. Jalen had no chance. Alabama is starting to open it up a little bit. No it'll never be big 12 or pac 12 football ever. It's still smash mouth with some of the best RBS in college. The 17 class has to get harder btw the ears. You cant have 4 of the top players threatening to transfer including najee and tua. No other coach in the country would have pulled their starter like Saban did in a national championship game. He had to make that move and it worked.

But not under the threat of a transfer, Saban doesn’t give a shit about transfers. Saban did what Saban  does, win the damn game.

Frickn drama queen.

I sure hope Saban lets him cut it loose. My hope is that we throw the ball far more effectively while maintaining that physical Bama ground game that made Bama great to begin this dynasty.

It’s just exciting to see we finally have what could be an elite QB. Hurts should not see the field again as QB unless Tua and Mac are both either injured or doing terrible. Hurts should be done at QB.

As long as we maintain a ground game that can pound opponents into submission and wears them down, then I’m fine with the greater number of passing attempts.

Idk about that. There was an article that stated if tua didnt get playing time he was gonna transfer. Saban was not going to lose tua and his brother. He also made the move to yes win the game and jalen had no chance of winning that game

3rd sentence, speculative.

Saban is sitting pretty, he’s not gonna bend the program for a player and his brother.

I don’t see it, regardless of what the article says.

I can understand why your saying its speculative due to the amount of players who transfer out but a kid like tua is special. Hes gonna be one of the best if not the best alabama has had in the past decade

Name a qb who's gone on to be "special" other than Joe Willie Namath and Kenny Snake Stabler?

I'm talking about at the college level not at the nfl level. You named the two QBs that were the most successful at the nfl level

Oh shit! Snake and Joe Willie sucked at the college level??? Dayum those pro scouts clearly picked a diamond in the rough, not once but twice!

What are the odds of that cataclysmic event?

DAYUM!!!

No didnt say that at all...I said Tua can be the best qb Alabama has had in the past decade. Your talking about qb who played for alabama close to 60 years ago. Go back last decade and tua can be better than any of those QBs

Could Tua be the best player Saban has ever had at Bama? Let’s assume he starts Week 1 and shreds every team that comes his way.

He would have to destroy teams and than hope those teams win. We know tenn has no shot of winning anything so right there doesnt help. Ole miss should be a dumpster fire. There's only 2 games I'm excited for texas a&m and lsu
