Grandparents Visting Son at Military Base Turned Over To Ice

You know you’re here illegally, yet think you can walk into a US military base.

You admit that you’re here illegally to said military base, and act shocked when you’re detained.

Aztec’s nifty pearl clutching notwithstanding, I’m not sure what there is to see here.

and where are all the flag waving Patriots when you need them??....they use to support the military and it's people....not any more...sad

Seriously, they detain an elderly couple with medical problems while visiting their 2 tours in Afghanistan, son. They work their asses off for 20 plus years and they get detained. I can guarantee you, the immigrants who come here work 10 times harder than many Americans who just live off welfare. Stupid, really.

95% of all immigrants who come here work 10x harder than the red-white and blue Americans IMO...^ this is crazy to do that to a guy who served HIS country well...Trump morons....

This is sad for sure, but it's tough to walk onto a military base without legit paperwork and think they will turn a blind eye.  Just not gonna happen.  The daughter/son in law should have known better and celebrated the 4th at a less secure place.

There’s no place for rationality and reason here..... be gone!

The CBP spokesman said the husband and wife had medications with them and were allowed to take them when needed and store them in a refrigerator.
The Silvas were taken to the nearby Wellesley Island Border Patrol station, where they received a special meal prepared by their relatives because of their medical conditions, the spokesman said.”
Can’t believe they’re treating them so bad.

I did 2 tours in Middle East as well. I’ve been detained at gate and not let on base. Just last year my family and myself wasn’t let on Schofield Barracks because we didn’t have a rental car agreement with us.

I should’ve raged after and blamed Trump.

A matter of fact, I would not be surprised if the military son in law doesn’t catch some flak for this from his superiors, especially if he knew they were illegal.

Totally agree with this. I was surprised the son in law didnt tell them to meet somewhere else or asked what kind of ID would be needed. Unless, they were going there to surprise him being he is in the military and it was fourth of july.

It'll be nice when the day arrives when law and border enforcement is respected more than those who violate our borders and sovereignty. Right and wrong used to be pretty clear most of the time. Now we're asked to believe a big., burly guy who claims to be a pink unicorn princess because the left want to dictate reality to us.

Screwed up world.

You can’t “surprise” someone onto a base (at least shouldn’t be able to),  you have to be signed on as a guest.  Only way to get on, other than being active duty, is to be a retiree, dependent card holder.  Doesn’t require third party escort.

I hear ya.  But they are elderly peops and obviously did not know that you can't walk on base with just a NYC ID.

Did they know they were here illegally, or did they forget, since they are elderly and stuff?

Military bases are no joke, I cleaned the clock of a serviceman... had to face the federal magistrate.

That's no joke, thankfully the prosecutors said " government had no case, several times" and it was dismissed.

But the judge wanted to make sure, worst experience ever.

Regards,

BGW

p.s. Lights out knockout, dude jackknifed and hit the pavement with his forehead.
