A possible conflict at Valdosta High!

Reports in the Valdosta newspaper and the Chris Beckham radio Show, indicated that Freshman sensation R.T. Alexander, a QB at St. Albans, West Virginia, will be transferring to play for the CATS this summer. R.T. is a 6'3" 180 lb., who passed for 1998 yds., and twelve touchdowns, in his first season for the St. Albans team. He is the son of former NFL RB Robert Alexander! Robert SR. said in the interview, that the reason for the move was, that he wanted his son to play for better coaches. And that there were few good ones in his current situation! That Valdosta ran their program like a college program! The family took in the Spring scrimmage between the CATS and Glynn Academy! And was amazed at the number of coaches, and the fact that each position had it's own set of coaches. He inferred that THIS was where he wanted his son to play!

NOW, THIS is where it gets interesting! Upon learning the new system! WHAT does Head Coach Rodemaker do in selecting his QB1? Because his SON Tate, is the current QB1. With a half season of experience already under his belt! Tate obviously has a leg up BUT! Athletic ability may make this a very difficult decision down the road!

In the irony of irony segment! Dear ole DAD treks to SOWEGA to give his son an opportunity to play at a high level! And Valdosta doesn't even play in the toughest league in the area, and is probably the fourth or fifth best TEAM in the area! I wanna see the look on DAD'S face, when he treks to Colquitt and LOWNDES! OOOOOOOOPSEE!

Dad may have heard how good Jaycee was doing in Motown, so he didn't even think of coming to Colquitt. He probably also knows that steel sharpens steel, so, he wants his kid to see some real defenses in Colquitt and Lowndes. Probably in Coffee and Lee too.

Rodemaker will be in a tough position I think. I think he would go with the better player, or run that okeedokee okefenokee two qb mess that he ran the year before last. Seemed to work for them. Could be the trick again this season.

WELL, if THEIR system is nearly as complex as ours! He may take a LOOOOOONG while to acclimate! Rod Jr. has been in this system his whole life!

I'm no talent scout, but, I wasn't overly impressed with Jr. except for occasionally.

I'd think a big athletic kid like the one you mention could come in and tom cat him right outta the litter box in Catsville.

The Alexander kid probably should have looked hard at Lowndes.  It will be difficult for him to transplant TR in Valdosta.  He would have had a much better opportunity with the Vikings.

Considering that the QB and HC share a last name... I'm inclined to agree.

I did watch some highlights from the spring game at Lowndes for young Rodemaker and... I hope the highlights were against the Lowndes 2's or Lowndes has A LOT of work to do in the secondary.

Lowndes has a LOT of work to do in the secondary.

Since that spring game...the Vikings have drafted a cornerback from the Cats to help the situation...BUT.........

They're gonna be in trouble if those kids don't get it together back there on defense. It looked like Rodemaker was pitching batting practice or shooting free throws from behind the l.o.s. Sorta made me think the D-line may need work too.  xD

Well....Lowndes will roll until Region.  I think they beat the Cats again this year...but not by as much as they did last year.  It will be a slobberknocker in Mack Tharpe.  Could be for the Region title...unless Camden comes to life.

Perhaps he realizes if he goes to lowndes he will only play local south GA teams for his entire career (or former powerhouses from a decade ago)

And WHO does VALDOSTA play? The team that won THEIR 6A state championship, won't even play COLQUITT! And neither will the 6A State runners up!
