[ECHS05]

My Preseason Top 130... Ive been moving teams around for weeks, I feel like this is the best Preseason poll out by far right now. But its mine so I should feel that way, let me know what you guys think.

 

I was very back and forth on #1 ... SJB held it for a few days, then I changed it to Mater Dei for a couple days... And I finally landed on IMG today. This'll all be hashed out eventually.

I came up with 130, because I put teams in State pods at first based on who I thought could be Top 100 worthy from each state. I got rid of a few that didnt look right on the list with the others, and landed on 130.

 

(You'll notice I have the # of Returning Starters for a lot of teams, but not for others ... Theres simply too many teams to get this info. for , and I wanted my rankings out as I felt good about them ... I may continue to get returning starter info. for the rest over time before the season starts ... )

-- Not that this matters THAT much, but North Gwinnett went undefeated, crushing everyone, in the Corky Kell 7on7 until they met Marietta (who also crushed everyone) in the Finals and lost in double OT 36-35.

North Gwinnett running game is going to be very, very good. If their passing game is on par with it... Look for NG to repeat.

Literally my only concern was NG losing 3* OLB Jayden McDonald (Iowa signee)... He was incredible in the playoffs. The Overall MVP of the 7A Playoffs by far.

I honestly feel like I fell victim to the Folsom hype even putting them at #42 ... they havent proven anything at all with who theyve beaten. If they beat DLS and Chammy Ill reconsider.

ive got my eyes on north shore, quality talent coming back with all units.  They will have a more balanced attack as their QB has matured a lot through the spring.  Expect the NS trademark defense to return.  Here's their calpreps summary

their best talent may be in their 2021 class with returning  QB and WR which are both rated in the top 2 and 3 respectively in TX at their positon/class

they play #17 Katy in week 1 and #93 Westfield week 3...good matchups

I honestly don't think IMG should start at number 1 but the top 10 looks good by me

 

MNW probably should be a little higher, i would say just slightly ahead of Armwood would be fair

Overall it looks good though, i would change a few things but that's the thing with human polls, no one gonna have the same exact placement 

 

Everyone gonna have their own hook and change from place to place but the foundation is solid

you have Cardinal Gibbons better than every team in the state of Georgia. The 5A team that gave up 58 in their last game against a top tier team, won only four games two year ago, is somehow better than everyone in the Peach state  🤣🤣? If you say so. 

I bet in December if the top 7A team is 14-0, you’ll be telling folks other wise.

Who gave you the 411 on Colquitt's returning starters? You DO realize of course, that they used twenty five players on both sides of the ball? So, they essentially are returning 19 starters and significant back ups! Steven, Cam, and J.J. were about the only major contributors who had to be replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

As an aside, SIMPLE question IF I may? Why are you folks SOOOO hell bent to equate teams who draw from MILLIONS, with REGULAR high school football teams? TRUTH be known, the coaches at IMG, SJB, MD, and the like, couldn't find their asses without recruits! And does ANYBODY think that a great coach is going to stay at the high school level? When half ass decent assistants in major colleges, earn mid six figures! DA STACHE probably lives in a fucking TRAILER PARK! Because I doubt VERY seriously, if he stayed for thirty years at a school that cain't even afford their own STADIUM, If ANYBODY significant wanted his services on the college level! Their new HC was the reason for their turnaround also. Their 4 wins 2 seasons ago matter less than 0 for that reason.

They may have given up 58 (in 3 OTs i think, not regular time), but they scored 57 against that AHP D. And 8 players return from that O.

Notice I have them higher than every team in Florida also... Not just the Peach St.

Youre probably right about La Salle... Ive never truly been high on them... Any year.

I felt like I needed to take a chance on a few teams... Colerain was one of em'. 

However. That is probably because out of all the teams on this list... Colerain is one I know the least about coming in 2018. Just havent heard much about them, nor have I read much about them.

I probably shouldve dropped La Salle for Elder.

I really dont know why I have Mentor on the list. I watched the Title game vs Pick. Central again a few days ago to see how many each team brought back... And Mentor brings back like 4 or 5 guys total on both sides... Theyll be a completely new team from the looks of it. But most Ohio guys seem to still like them.
