Nolebull813
I know it's a football related thread so it might not get the clicks but if you had a son entering 9th grade and you could send him to any school in the country to be coached by any coach who would it be? It can be for any reason. Academics. Discipline. Getting to the next level. Etc. I would send my kid to Don Bosco. I like Toal's old school attitude. The training regimen. Bosco has rock solid academics. I feel he would best provide a young man to succeed in all phases. Plus they play top competition. It's a good blend of everything. What say you
SJR 04
Tony Karcich at St. Joseph Regional. Man of integrity, truly cares about his players, has one on one talks everyday with the kids about the tools they'll need to succeed in life, and puts huge emphasis on discipline. Great school community. Kids actually care about one another. I can go on and on

PrepGridiron
Biased but alumbaugh and DLS without a doubt. Out of state it may be IMG or STA. If your kid is good at football and is looking for education. Can't go wrong with either.
Rufus69
I would send ALL talented O-Linemen to Colquitt County to play for Coach Joey Bennett. Rufus>>

Under that premise, I'd choose Chuck Kyle from Iggys. Second would be Sanchez at BG. Having communicated w him lately, his passion, attitude and the respect he shows towards others is contagious. "Yes, Sir and No Sir's" go along way with me. If OOS, probably Toal or Beatty.

AztecPadre
Dude this is a no brainer. probst and calquit. I would have my redheaded step child play there in a NY minute.
NicholasMalibu
If my kid was a middle of the road talent that's going to end up using an alumni network to his advantage then I'm picking one of the top catholic schools in a major metro area like DBP, BC, DLS, Mater Dei, etc... I know how much DC schools like DeMatha, Gonzaga and St. John's help their alumni for life. I'm guessing it's the same elsewhere. I have friends that took the IMG route for tennis and soccer and the alumni network wasn't a strong point back then unless you needed management. That could of totally changed over the past decade. If my kid is a sure shot D1 FBS player then I'm choosing STA for obvious reasons. If I had to pick just one OOS school it would be DBP. It's a tough decision with so many great options.

Coletrain06
It's easiest for In state because I know them alot better than OOS coaches In Ohio...........Privates: Chuck Kyle(St. Ignatius), Steve Specht(St. X). Publics: Scott Dattillo(Sycamore), Tom Bolden(Colerain), Brian White(Hilliard Davidson) OOS ..............Toal(DBP), Joseph(Katy)

Cat_Scratch
OOS, probably Trinity Ky. Purely educational.
World Citizen
It would depend on how good my kid was. If my kid is good but not great and there is a chance the school has a great free agency during summer and some kid comes in and takes his spot that would suck. So I'm going with DLS and Alumbaugh. Or something something valley, they are on the rise. I think even if my kid was great I would choose DLS.
maxchoboian
There are lots of good high school coaches, even out here in Dances With Wolves territory. In Colorado, there are guys like Dave Logan (big-school championships at 4 different schools, attracting kids based on his college contacts as much as his attention to detail with preparation) and Andy Lowry (5 championships at Columbine, a great role model who has used neighborhood kids in a system that when executed properly has proven to be outstanding) I don't know any of these guys, but based on what I've read over the years, I'd choose the coaches at the usual suspects: DBP (has been successful in and out of state -- most impressively out of state -- against quality opponents; and the academics) DLS (streak speaks for itself, regardless of who they've played; current coach appears to stress humility, among other important lessons being taught there for the last 35 years; and the academics) STA (consistent quality of the program; see above about the academics) Katy (wins with sound, fundamental football in a talent-rich area; strong academically as well, I believe) Colquitt is as good a program as any in the country, but I think the coach is a bit of a lunatic. If I lived there, I'd be happy to have my son in the program, but if I have my choice as this thread suggests, that wouldn't be a top choice. IMG is a no go, as I'd not send my 16 or 17 year-old across the country based on a sport. I like being around my kids too much.
Reb72
being from Louisiana, if I could send my kid anywhere (much as it hurts me to say this) based on athletics and academics I'd send my kid to Archbishop Rummel. Great academics and top notch coach in Jay Roth; quality education and great sports (not just football). Now, if my kid was gifted musically, I'd send them to West Monroe
