CCBlackhatter
I was under the impression that one must live in the school district of the school they are playing for. Not only is Covington not in the Grayson school district, Covington is not even located in the same county as Grayson. This entire time, we were fed alternative facts that Grayson's transfers made bonafide moves. I guess his family moved since December.

Kurt Taylor transferred from a GHSA school to another GHSA school a few months before his senior season without making a bonafide move as his tweet suggests. HawgGoneIt
Was he under the hardship clause? He had to move with the family unit and they had to remain for 1 year, unless there was applications for hardship applied and approved. HawgGoneIt
At the minimum, this should be grounds for an investigation. Obviously there was no bona fide move, because of the definition the GHSA provides for that type of move. The only hope for them is the hardship clause I think.

HawgGoneIt
They had to have the home in the Grayson school district, under contract prior to him starting football at that school, and maintained possession of that home for 1 year, and the old home had to be vacated. Maybe. I think the wording is the family unit had to move and remain for a period of one year.
HawgGoneIt
They had to move, cut power or lease their old home to someone not family, list the home for sale, and vacate it. Then they have to maintain that status for a period of one year.
HawgGoneIt
The kid falls into the migrant student section of the by-laws due to returning to the old residence, and/or the family never vacating the old abode. As a migrant student he could not play varsity sports. only subvarsity.

That may be the only way. I'm not sure how that works entirely, as I can't find any specific wording on divorced parents. I do know that bona fide move isn't validated until the period of one year has ended. If they moved out before the year was done, nothing has been pulled off yet. There is still the year to contend with.

ron169
And let's compare this to Colquitt next quarterback, Mr krejewskiiiyey, or however it's spelled. Him and his father moved from Michigan to Georgia, leaving his mom and brother in Michigan so his brother could finish his senior year in high school. Ghsa told his father that unless mother and brother move, the only way the kid would be eligible is if the parents divorced. So to summarize, father and son move half way across country, father gets a job and bus a house, still can't play unless your dad divorced his wife of 20+ years.

LOL........What do you expect from these kids (and their parents). Very brazen (and stupid), but he got what he wanted. A "Ship" The family never moved from Covington! Two years ago, they were looking at a school in Dekalb but decided against it because they were told he had to share the backfield and would not be the feature back. The house you see in the pic is the house he slept in after every Friday night game last season. Those kids made a mockery of the GHSA last season and told them so before the season.......LOL
