OT: California First; Vermont Next

#Calexit is gaining major momentum.  Bernie says that Vermont should be next in line.  Lime Sink made a donation to Bernie's cause yesterday...and out of the goodness of their heart they gave me a bottle of 100% Vermont Maple Syrup.  I'm hearing that Alaska is in the pondering stage.....

That would be probably one of the best decisions in history.

California is sooooo different than they rest of the country. It would be outstanding. All the gays, Muslims and illegal immigrants could move there without a care in the world.

They can rename SoCal "Sodom" and NorCal "Gomorrah"

Personally, whether posted in jest or not...I think that is a tremendous idea.  And I think Vermont should tie-in to Nova Scotia.  And you gotta agree...there's No Way...Alaska should be part of the Not So United States of the Offended.  Shoot, hopefully...the Florida Keys will follow suit.

California is not going anywhere.  There is no legal right to secede.  Fortunately it would not take 4 years and 600,000 dead to enforce it.  Somehow I think the Army of the Golden Gate would be less imposing than the Army of Northern Virginia.

There won't be no armies involved...unless you count attorneys.  This war will be fought in the courts.  And ya gotta keep in mind...this ain't the 1860s.  People's mindsets have CHANGED.  There's a big wave of discontent towards Washington D.C.

NEVER say NEVER.....

There is nothing to argue - secession is illegal.  The only question is if they would be allowed to leave.  The answer is no.

If I'm California and I'm really wanting to leave... I'd just ask nicely. One can hope that the senators and representatives elected by these "good riddance" types are just as willing to say goodbye. Somehow, I think there would be enough smart congress people to alert the not smart ones of how much of the federal tax burden California carries, and then they would be swayed to say, "not so fast Cali!"

I think it's probably easier just to wait for the collapse of the union, due to internal dissent or the final throws of capitalism finally occurring and leaving us in a ruin like Rome. Then you can just build yourself a wall and be a real country on your own.

More hysteria.

You won't see the Union collapse anytime soon, nor will you see California secede from the Union. Remember when the Southeastern states wanted to secede after Obama was elected. Look where we are 8 years later... Same ole 50 States of 'Merica.

Enough with all the fluffy, exaggerated speech.

You do understand that Trump's Federal hiring freeze includes V. A. hospitals?  However long the wait was before, whatever he promised to help the Vets (and Trump has promised them a lot!)-it is now longer.

I thought he backed that up a bit and now is allowing the VA to continue to full needed positions.  After much push back of course.

Could be wrong though.
