D1 Commits Per State (so far)

Texas has 5 more D1 colleges than Florida. That's why they have more. If FAMU and Bethune ever went D1 that would automatically jump our numbers 40-50 more every year.

Texas State and UTSA helped Texas jump the numbers up a lot lately

So, 40-50 D1s from Florida are going unsigned? That's a real shame. Highly unlikely, but a shame.

That's like me saying if Grambling St and Southern went D1 Louisiana would have 40-50 more D1s.

Looks like TX will hold off FL and GA will come up short vs Cali... maybe next year GA, it will happen!

it amazing me how poorly TX does per capita.

Ga and FL have a little more than 30,000,000 population and TX just under yet tx only has 346 and GA plus FL has 545!

What a vast difference in talent.

They don't go unsigned. They just don't count toward the number becuase they are FCS. Texas has benefited by FCS teams being able to move up because of money.

FAMU and Bethune got no money so they struggle to keep football going strong.

But if Grambling made the jump to the Sun Belt that would jack LA numbers up

People always do the "what if" drill.  There is a reason why fla doesn't have more D1 colleges, overall attendance and support for those lower level colleges is a big factor.  You will never have more colleges represented as the state just doesn't have the overall support.

this is why the per capita argument is not very strong indicator.  There is a significant portion of the population that does not contribute to the quality nor quantity of HSFB athletes, they are non factors.  The same is true for football participation numbers.  There are a lot of fluff players on rosters that add nothing to the quantity nor quality of D1 potential athletes.  A matter of fact, Texas large schools could cut their rosters in half and dramatically improve on the per capita figure as those cut would not impact the number of D1 athletes on the rosters.

We are actually growing from the small divisions really fast. University of West Florida, Florida Tech, Southeastern have all started the last few years. Keiser is starting next year.

And you proved my point. Texas only has more numbers becuase the colleges have more money to make the jump. Fan support means nothing. Eastern Michigan every year ranks last in attendance and under some FCS schools but remains D1.  Becuase they have the money .

Texas has more becuase they have more money. Bottom line

Good for Florida!  You will never hear me bellyache though like you have. I just get tired of hearing your whining over this stat year in and year out.  Texas has money and talent and the state has found a way to take adv of both.  Get over it.

What's good for Florida? Who is whIning? Lol Florida has almost as many recruits with 700 less high schools, 10,000+ less SENIOR football players and 5 less FBS teams

in fact what you deem whIning I deem bragging. Lol

Louisiana has 7 FCS schools, nolebull813. What would that do for our numbers?

A true football state.

The point I was making is that the only reason Texas has the most FBS recruits is becuase they have 12 FBS schools to inflate the amount. It's no big deal. Everyone is doing fine with what they got.

There are so many different ways to look at this. Even with 12 FBS schools they still have the 2nd most oos FBS signees to Florida. If Florida had more FBS schools it might just mean that less would get signed out of state. Also the Southeast has way more FBS schools than the Texas area. The area from Tennessee and NC down to SC, GA, AL and FL has 28 FBS schools. Texas and all their border states have less even though it's a much bigger area.

I'm not questioning how great the Florida athletes are just that there are so many variables whenever people want to compare states.

Sting Sting Sting you're missing 3 FBS schools in NC and 1 in TN. I'll bet you that $400 you want to invest! That would be a great ROI for me! ?

What they really need to do is see how many D1 players per amount of players playing HS football.

Amazing how superior to TX, FL and Ga are isn't it?

Especially when you consider how TX folks, , like you, run their mouths.

I tried to teach you. Big crowds does not mean the football is any better, it simply means they have big crowds.

We are all tired of your drab on Texas, no matter of shit you spill ever will change Texas postion as a top recruiting base for college football.

Go look at the stat metric again, Texas will still be towards the top this morning ,afternoon and this evening. I don't think you have a clue about the topic, this thread is about D1 recruits and you're babbling about crowd size

You guys remind me of my old girlfriends, long after I left them or wasn't in the room with them they still had my name coming out their mouth. One tends talk a lot about what they secretly lust after.  Lol
