Pretty impressive what he has done as a youngster. I went to the link too, and clicked on a video of him running a 200M. Was able to see "Smoke" separate from the competition, and I got approved for a Rocket mortgage from Quicken.

Neither ever played in Denver.
954gator
I don't think even Texas runs the 300m or 500m lol, and they usually run all the rare races. that being said this kid is faaaaast.
golfaddict1
Wow, this is going back... was Dan Issel on that squad? That's the only guy I can recall from back in the/my day. '74 is about the year I started my sports addiction and retaining what I watched. Little glimpses of '73 like the Rose-Harrelson brawl I can recall. I do remember the Colorado Rockies well, who became the NJ Devils.
golfaddict1
6.79 60 prelims (pb is 6.78) qualified 3rd. Final today. Diondre Batson should push him to a new pb in the open finals (6.71 prelim). Through two prelim qualifying round 60's in collegiate, only 2 ran faster than 6.79 (both 6.77). 21.28 200 last night (pb 21.22 but it was a soph nat'l record). Two 24 year olds beat him in time. He won his race easily. 60 finals and 300 race today. 60 200 https://www.youtube.com/embed/SMKEezOOgz4

This could be among the greatest to ever, set 2 feet in Blocks, stare ahead, accelerate out of them and flee down a track constricting him within his own lane amiss 2 white lines with only a horizontal line to validate his greatness. In other words just keep out running everyone. Good stuff glad my Track man is keeping it 100 Now just need NTPB and TexasBall to bring some heat. Good stuff great athlete. Hopefully he comes to the Texas Relays this year and I get a 1st hand look at this Fl. phenom, OOne more Rocket Reference:
golfaddict1
HS record of course and first to run sub 33. Will share video of the race when I see one... Collegiate 200 prelims, nobody ran faster than Cooper's 21.28 (and he wasn't pushed). Winner of the collegiate 60 ran a 6.77... Cooper will be running the 60 in a bit, so will be fun to compare (6.79 prelim, pb 6.78).
954gator
Think in the end his money events will be the 200/400. I just hope he doesn't peak too early. More and more kids these days seem to be doing so.

I agree with you that he will be a 200 and 400 monster.
golfaddict1
Apparently, there wasn't a 60 mens open final for some reason (9 qualified incl Cooper). Still looking for a vid to share on the 300. I saw it on NBC Sports yesterday (first race they showed) and Cooper was in the outer lane next to Gordon. Cooper held his own vs a guy who ran a sub 20.5 indoors just recently (oh and a 2012 Olympic medalist), but Gordon was just stronger and held him off with some room to spare. http://timerhub.com/getHytResults.php?page=results.armorytrack.com/2017/ATI/170203F042.htm Here's an interesting vid for the diehards... lol. Top 200 in the regular collegiate heats was 20.96 Collegiate invitational had 2 heats with Michael Norman participating... USC sprinter Just'N Thymes (cool name) takes it in 20.47, 2 sprinters at 20.49 (some race!) and FR Michael Norman 4th with a 20.75 Cooper's 200 race result will be added here in about 10 minutes. I think he will run a sub 21. His PR is 21.22 and he ran a 21.28 last week.

golfaddict1
21.12 for Cooper, close but nope. Lowered his PR by .10 and his soph HS record by .16 He blitzed his 400 indoor PR from 47.97 to 46.01 yesterday (broke the indoor soph record set in 1986 (46.84).
