Longview to stay in 6A, Lufkin drops to 5A

Longview will be staying put in Class 6A with the release of the conference cutoff numbers by the UIL on Wednesday.

Longview turned in an enrollment of 2,242.5, putting the Lobos 52.5 above the cutoff of 2,190 for Class 6A.

Tyler Lee will (2,222) will also remain in 6A.

There are 17 schools smaller than Longview in 6A.

John Tyler (2,153) and Lufkin (2,158) are dropping to Class 5A with a cutoff number of 2,189.

District alignments will be released in February.
