What jumps off the page to me are the parallels between his radical activism of decades-past and the kinds of things we are seeing today. It’s the same shit, really. All of the whacko stuff mentioned with the anonymous, “underground” Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement has been seen before with groups like “Weather Underground” that Gilbert was a part of. Today, Gilbert’s son, Chesa Boudin, is District Attorney of San Francisco county. You think Chesa looks up to his father? You think he’s aware of the kinds of activism his father was involved in?
