Fun little daisy chain here.A week after being shutout by Vero Beach, Chaminade Madonna beats Miami Central 27-7.

You have to think Miami Central will remain ahead of Lakeland in the calpreps report. Because, like, duh. And stuff. After all, the running clock loss to St. Frances should trump anything else.

Lakeland is ahead of MC as they should be now.

Excluding IMG, the highest rated risk/reward opponent for Armwood, MNW, STA and Lakeland  thus far... and all road games.

@North Gwinnett, @Lowndes, @DLS and @Bloomingdale (Lakeland's top rated opponent and risk/reward game until mid Nov).

Armwood and STA are in 7A and if Lakeland runs the table, nothing MNW does the rest of the way will keep Lakeland from passing them.  Lakeland could pass IMG in-state as IMG opened the door losing to SFA soundly and now have a rating that is reachable.

The system works fine.   You can only rise so much with a signature win over Bloomingdale.

Ned left them to where they have a long way to rise when he dropped them ~80 spots in the off-season, when no games were played. 🤡

And it's cute that IMG and St. Frances get credit for beating now #309 (Venice) while Lakeland is credited with a win over #727 (Manatee) when Manatee just beat Venice 30-13 at Venice. The idea that the Venice win is >400 spots better than the Manatee win-with Manatee having decisively beaten Venice at their place-is rich. What it says, quite clearly, is Ned values his judgements of teams over the results of actual games. 🤦‍♂️🤡

IMG and SFA are receiving much less credit for pounding Venice.  Look at the trend in grey (meaning less value for rating  formula due to Venice being weak).

The black boldfaced games hold the most value.

They're receiving less credit than they were getting. But, they're still getting more credit for the Venice win than Lakeland gets for Manatee.

None of this matters a bit...unless one actually tries to suggest that the ratings are accurate and useful for ranking teams across the country.
