badrouter
Manatee, rated #1042, goes on the road and beats #170 Venice by a score of 30-13. If you're Ned, what's your move here? What's your play? Ostensibly, you'd drop the living hell out of Venice. But, Venice "touches" calpreps darlings St. Frances and IMG. If Venice plummets, might this disrupt the placement of your #2 team? Maybe just disregard this one? golfaddict1
That’s a matchup result @The Guru probably feels like a win-win scenario with his fav HC’s battling it out. Imo, this result hurts 7A depth a bit and really hurts Venice more so. Their D is awful this season. Only STA running the same play 20 times with a lead could keep Venice opponent’s mascot doing push-ups on the sidelines from getting pooped. Does scheduling a power raise your rating? It raises your sos, but you still have to perform. Losing with style (not blown out) as a positive, admittedly is sort of amusing when comparing results, but it has to be this way for a rating system to function. Of course the more quality opponents one faces, the less impact one game will have on a team’s overall rating. I’m sure Massey and Freeman have many things in common, but how they handle OOS ratings and state scaling is different. For example, Massey hammered Venice FL to a very low rating currently. Glancing at the three algos, imo Fisher is the one that looks the strangest and the combined CP/Massey combo is enough to reduce differential extremes. Both have some state favs, but Fisher seems to be having some hanging chad issues with his creation. He needs to do some tinkering back in the lab. The Guru
It's better to just ignore badrouter. He doesn't understand how algorithms work. And he somehow thinks that beating a crappy 5-4 Venice team means that Manatee is good. 🤡
