OU's offense is more fluid.

Ohio State's D-line is good, but their run defense has been thrashed all season long. The past two games doesn't make OSU's defense any better. Northwestern has one of the worst run offenses in college football, and MIchigan's run game and entire offense depended on wearing teams out till they pounded them out in the 4th. Obviously being down big you're not going to keep pounding the rock.

OSU has better talent on defense, but they wouldn't get stops. Maryland who does nothing but run the ball, did just that to OSU. OU and OSU would need turnovers/Personal foul penalties on Bama's offense to get stops.

Northwestern only used Isaiah Bowser for half the season. In the 6 games where he played before facing Ohio State, he ran for 734 yards (122 ypg).

Apart from the one long 77-yard run to start the game, Northwestern netted 74 the rest of the game.

Apart from the one run, Northwestern ran on ND roughly the same as vs. Ohio State.

Interesting how Maryland is indicative but nothing else counts.

Also interesting how Ohio State admittedly has better talent but the result would be the same. Ohio State has given up over 40 points twice this season. Oklahoma has had it done to them 5 times. Four of those are in the past month to teams sporting a combined losing record.

There's a big difference between a team that gets torched defensively in a couple of games but is otherwise OK, and a team that you can count on to get torched nearly every game no matter who shows up.

We'll see soon enough.
