TheMaximumHornetSting
Let's go ahead and drop the bombshell. Dr.Hines may gain just as many enemies as friends... One new rule he threw in. It's pretty cut throat. No more bubble system... The bubble system was for city and a few county schools that had an enrollment above the class they're in but didn't meet the requirements to be in the class above. Best example of this is Buford and Rome. Both would be in 6A under the new reclassification. Also it seems the cutting it back down to 6A is gonna happen. But it's not official this meeting was just to gather interest and pre-planning. A working meeting nothing is set in stone The biggest supporters so far are: Buford HS Northside WR Ware HS Warner robins HS Every school in Bufords Region(I laughed at this). Etc. Rome ain't to happy.... Now the disadvantages of 7A where addressed as well and most of it was travel distance and the strain it put on budgets... and the difficulty of finding games. TheMaximumHornetSting
Now on to what the actual regions would look like. Region 1 could possibly kiss Camden goodbye under the new 6A... But welcome back Houston, Northside WR, Valdosta and Coffee. The new Region 1: Colquitt Tift Lowndes Valdosta Houston Northside WR Coffee Basically the 02-09 region. But in addition there would be 1 new region in South GA: The new Region 2: Camden Ware Glynn Academy Brunswick Richmond Hills Effingham South Effingham Bradwell Institute
TheMaximumHornetSting
The only problem I could see with this is alot of current 5A schools are gonna get pushed up...
TheMaximumHornetSting
Rome for instance is gonna get put in with Marietta, Mceachern and Hillgrove in their region... But I could see them getting by with the isolation rule...
TheMaximumHornetSting
The Isolation rule is for schools that are far from their region opponents... Rome may not get by idk... Also they're waiting on the next enrollment numbers to be taken which is in August I believe so we still gotta wait. Plus none of this would go into effect immediately anyway. None of it would go into effect till 2020... But for those who don't know schools who use the Isolation rule currently to my knowledge are : Camden the only school I know of that uses it currently. in football and Baseball they're 7A but everything else is 6A. This is due to travel distance. Camden is only 20-30 minutes north of Jacksonville FL. The closest school in the region is Lowndes and that's almost 3 hours. everybody else is 3 hours or more. TheMaximumHornetSting
In something unrelated Cedar Grove HC is leaving for the college ranks.

So y'all done with it? Even better now... It's still showing some of the schedule without Colquitt and the crew.
HawgGoneIt
Found this. Seems like the teams gaining steam with kids from outside of their lines escape the net one more again. https://www.ajc.com/blog/high-school-sports/private-city-schools-present-reclassification-challenge-for-ghsa/6xl8g8pgU5cqdqeOtKgKkJ/ But the GHSA is serious about it!
