Red? Blue? It's all F'ked

I rarely get on this side of the forum, but I had the itch to rant a bit.  I know this forum is mainly for conservatives and liberals to endlessly bash each other, but honestly, IMO, most of you guys that are an 80-90% lean either way are taking all the bait that's being thrown at you.

As most of you know there is a political war going on right now that has reached a whole new level of extreme in regards to their "campaign strategies".  Both sides are spreading so much disinformation that truth is near impossible to obtain, and both sides are quite ok with US citizens suffering in order to convince us to join their side.   The deeper you dig/the more dots one connect the crazier it gets.

Minorities are stuck right smack in the middle of this and are straight up being exploited as a means to push both agendas.    I've always feared the extreme right over the left, but I honestly don't know anymore.

How far are both sides willing to go to prove they are right and win this fucked up political game?   Who will end up suffering the most during the process?   Shit, even typing this shit up has me feeling like shit.

On the subject of police brutality (especially towards minorities and African Americans in particular) I've always been disgusted by it.    I'm all for people to protest as much as they want.   I'm proud of all the AMERICANS that have the courage and will to make a statement for change on something, that frankly, has been in need of reform for a few decades now.  What makes me sick though is the infiltration of these wonderful protests by both political sides exploiting decades of held in anger and trying to push their agenda through it.   One side seems to want more destruction to further enforce some people's dislike and bias for said minorities & the far left.  The other wants destruction/chaos (which will certainly promote harsh enforcement) to further reinforce the anger/fear of said minorities (and left in general) toward the current admin.

Vegas, Covid, protests/riots, school shootings, Police brutality, immigration, Russia, China, race relations,  etc are all pieces on a damn chess board.     I mean I'm sitting here thinking, damn, It really wouldn't surprise me if either side were willing to release a deadly virus if it would ensure them winning.   In this time of disinformation it's waay too easy to bend us all over.

Anyways rant over.   I know...I know TLDR...well GFYS lol.

@954gator Good rant.  There is a lot to unpack in this post but one thing that stood out.  I certainly hope people are not willing to unleash a virus in order to make the other side look bad.  I do get your point on this though.

For my part I miss the Republican party and wish it would find itself again.  We don't have that anymore, instead we have Trump.  People have the right to vote and support who they want but for the life of me I don't understand the refusal to give Trump credit for what he says and does.  For christ sake, he wants to use the military to squash peaceful protesters.  I won't even get into all the things Trump has done and is doing.  Trump supporters have talked about a civil war and going out and shooting fellow Americans.  I can't imagine a traditional Republican talking like that.  It is so incredibly offensive to me that we see the 'other' side as evil and hate America and thus less than American than Trump supporters are.

How does one react to Trump?  A better question is how does one react to Trump supporters?  The inability to have common facts prevents any reasonable conversations IMO.  I do not know how to talk to somebody who only believes what Trump says and all else is either fake news or just hatred for the President.  It's either all on board with Trump or you are an enemy and hate this country.  Even those who Trump supporters loved at one time are no longer loved because they said something that opposed him.

The extreme left are not without deserved criticism either.  I won't go as far as to condemn Trump supporters or the extreme left as evil people bent on America's destruction.  I hate what's happening and I regret when I fall prey to the partisanship and finger pointing going on.  I would have more respect for Trump supporters who can be honest about who Trump is and what he says.  It doesn't excuse me from my part in what's happening but I just don't quite know how to deal with all the outright lying.  I guess they are not lies when one uses alternative facts though.  Idk

How's that for an incoherent rant?  Lol at GFYS

I hear you man and Trump is embarrassing IMO.   I just also think it's embarrassing how far people are willing to go to make everything about him.   He's an idiot no doubt,  at least when it comes to some of the things he says publicly and the PR aspect.   The thing is, I just don't really believe in ANYONE in politics.    Like I said I don't consider myself red or blue I'd rather be a completely different color lol.   I didn't vote for Trump and at the same time I hated Hilary.    I really don't like Biden at all either.  Something about him pisses me off lol.   That's the problem though.   How could anyone be so far one way when it all just looks like shit?

I agree and also hope what you said in the first paragraph is not something anyone would do, but things are just being taken so far and so extreme lately.   Both sides are trying so hard to make the other side look like pure evil and divide everyone into A or B.   F that, I'm none of the above.

It's so sad that the truth isn't there for anyone to really find anymore, people are just taking the "truth" that they'd rather believe.  I have zero faith is society right now.   $ is the only thing that matters.    You go to a doctor and money will make it a hassle to go see a specialist (many docs are rewarded for not referring out).   Judges are getting bought.   Police are getting hired off duty to do security for whoever has the cash.  News organizations have openly taken sides.   People pushing for mandatory vaccines are the ones that are making them.    Who can really be trusted right now in society?

Like you, Trump was someone I could not vote for ( although I have to admit he has gotten some positive things done such as trade irregularities and the crime bill among others ) and I detested Hillary ever more.

What most don't realize ( although more are learning ) is that corruption is the main political party in the US today and the chairman of that party is $$$$$. There is little difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. I won't get into tons of specifics ( to many to list ) as you have already touched on a couple... and to do so would make this post as long as a novel but it makes for a very sad situation when for example, the republicans cannot offer a truly good candidate that would represent the US pushing a correct agenda that would at least start the job of addressing this country's ills.
