Weekly Viewer Guide - January 22 -23

It is down to just Michigan.    All games are being televised on Fox Sports-Detroit (DirecTV channel 663) beginning at 10:00am this morning.

MICHIGAN –

Division I Final

West Bloomfield (10-1) vs. Davison (9-0)       

Game Notes:  Davison is the defending champion.   West Bloomfield first appearance in title game since a 2017 loss to Clarkston.             

Division II Final

Norton Shores Mona Shores (11-0) vs.    Warren De LaSalle Collegiate (7-3)               

Game Notes: Game is a match up of the defending champion (Mona Shores) vs. the 2018 champion (De La Salle Colleigate).          

Division III Final

Dewitt (11-0) vs. River Rouge (9-1)                         

Game Notes: River Rouge is the defending champion.   Dewitt making first title game appearance since 2013 when they were beaten by Zeeland West 34-27.              

Division IV Final

Cadillac (8-2) vs. Detroit Country Day (9-1)

Game Notes: Country Day in final game in consecutive years after losing last years championship gam to Grand Rapids Catholic Central 44-0.  

Division V Final

Grand Rapids Catholic Central (11-0) vs. Frankenmuth (11-0)

Game Notes: Catholic Central is the defending Division IV champion but drops down a division to play in the championship game of Division 5.   Catholic Central had won the Division IV title in three of the last four years.        

Division VI Final

Montague (11-0) vs. Clinton (10-1)

Game Notes: Montague returns to title game for first time since a runner-up finish in 2018.   The school won back- to-back titles in 2008-2009.   Clinton making first title appearance since runner-up finish in 2015.               

Division VII Final

New Lothrop (10-0) vs. Traverse City St. Francis (8-2)

Game Notes: New Lothrop seeking first title since 2018 while St. Francis is appearing in championship game for the first time since back-to-back titles in 2008-2009.       

Division VIII Final

Ubly (10-2) vs. Centreville (10-0)

Game Notes: Two newcomers battle to claim first title since at least 2007.

I always hope to see Romeo on this list.  Love that offense and the way that team executes that offense.  Good stuff.

They were decent, losing to undefeated Belleville in the Division 1 (Large School) Quarterfinals 43-16.    Their regular season had some highlights as they beat Detroit King twice and also beat De La Salle Collegiate who were the Division 2 runner-up.
