Former SDNY federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy has argued all along that Mueller’s investigation would end like this -  because there was no credible evidence of a crime on the part of Trump to start.  The only crimes were lying to investigators of a probe that never should have happened or Manafort’s crimes - which the Justice Dept could have handled without the Mueller probe.

This was not a criminal investigation.  This was initiated as a counter-intelligence investigation.  It started because serious professionals were rightfully concerned that a foreign adversary may have compromised our President and that he may be either knowingly or not working for and/or being influenced by Russia.  Trump has not exactly shown this to be a far fetched proposition and his speech and actions warranted suspicion.  

Had they not investigated they would have been failing to do their job.

Mueller - the special counsel - was appointed not for counter-intelligence, but to look for criminal behavior when there was no evidence of any on the part of Trump.  That requirement is in the special counsel statute and was ignored by Rosenstein.

Exactly. They were looking for criminal to impeach him. Even pelosi was not stupid enough to go for impeachment

Anyone who thinks the president of USA can be compromised by a foreign govt, especially Russia has smoked way to much reefer in their life and watched way to much 007. 

Why is there no investigation on Demorats? There’s far far more of a connection with them and Russia and MEast? Much larger money trail? Did these serious professionals that loved demorats and hated Trump not do their job there? Even prior to Trump? 

These liberal nut job politicians, late night hosts, Hollywood  and news anchors have traumatized Democrats beyond belief. Lol

That's why they (our intelligence, FBI) were looking into it, to see if he was knowingly or not compromised.  It is an incredible proposition.  I'm sure it was to those investigating.  

The rest of your post concerning investigating Democrats...They should do that if there is reason to.  

None of us citizens started this.  Started by proffessional people (Republicans mostly) who are/were alarmed by Trumps actions and words concerning a foreign adversary.  An adversary who has and is currently messing with our Democracy.  Still Trump denies their involvement and is showing no signs of addressing the problem.  

They still are getting a free pass by Trump.  He is not even pretending to defend our Democracy.  And he won't until his supporters let him know they care about it.  

IMHO.

In August/September first beer is on me.  😀
