One of the best college games of all-time was OU-Nebraska on Thanksgiving 1971.  Called “The Game of the Century”.  Johnny Rodgers returned a punt for the opening TD (he won the Heisman).  Nebraska scores late to win 35-31.  Teams were ranked #1 and #2 coming in.

Watched the game down the street at a neighbor's house whose dad was from Nebraska. As a kid, I didn't realize how big of a jerk that dad was until that game. I rooted against Nebraska when they played Oklahoma from that day forward, because of Bud Engler.

Big 8 had the top 3 teams in the final polls that year. 1. Nebraska (undefeated) 2. Oklahoma (only loss was to Nebraska) 3. Colorado (only losses were to Nebraska and Oklahoma)

Although local people like to think of it as rivalry, Nebraska had their way with Colorado for decades when they were in the same conference. Both schools have moved to different conferences, but play occasionally. This year's game was in Boulder, and over half the crowd was dressed in red (Nebraska fans travel well), but for the 2nd year in a row the Cobroller fans were left shaking their heads when the clock hit 0:00. They used to be able to talk smack about their football team, but now they are back to pumping up how impressive their corn is. Not much else there.
