How can a state Association require a 18 year old to live with his parents to play football.

Can't but you have to show proof of residency. ie.. Drivers license, lease , phone bill etc.. showing proof of residency in the schools district and in your name.

At 18 I think you can do all that.   18-19 year old kids have leases all the time at college.  It's a crazy deal but just looking at it from a different standpoint.

here is an interesting one..GHSA adresses but no mention in the rules for an 18 year old living on his own

9. If the student marries and sets up a first-time residence, the student retains eligibility.

Plenty of guys have knocked up girls in HS and moved in together before graduation.  He is 18 a father and a Senior how could he be ineligible.

This happened in DE one year. A coach from Baltimore got hired at Dover HS and two of his former players from Edmonson West Side High in Baltimore ( yes "The Bunks" school )transferred to Dover for their Senior year. Both were 18 and both got an apartment together in Dover. Who paid for it no one knows. There was no evidence the coach did so there was nothing the DIAA could do about it regardless how many people bitched and complained and they did lol..

One of those kids could have been left money from grandmother.

Just think at 18 you can go into Army and do whatever you want except buy liquor or a pistol.

Say he is 18 summer before he is a  senior and is out on his own and decides to move to another district how can it be stopped with the parent rule.  In every since of the word he is a grown adult.

Don't think you can smoke until 21 now

Not sure if its in ghsa rules but they might require athletic participants to stay with family
