Why is there not a H.S. national playoff

Like something NCAA does...just wondering on why they wouldn't do that .. like after States Is done

Let's see, the logistics of how the teams are selected? Where to play the games? Each state having its own governing body who wants a say and control plus a piece of the $$$. Number of games already played? Cutting into other sports seasons? Money to put it on? Not reasonable?

Would be cool though but the current post season bowls are probably the best we get but maybe more teams will join eventually so the year can go out with a bang

Y'all remember after colquitt won state in 2015 and Rush went on a little rant about Katy, TX and the whole national championship thing? Well, I do remember him mentioning the creation of a 4 team high school playoff.

So, if this ever comes into fruition, we gotta thank Rush for it happening. 

I think a 4 team playoff would be great. Only thing is this: regular season games would have to be shortened in order for the playoff games to be played at an appropriate date in December.
