Could it what’s needed as opposed to keeping score?

It is only “needed” when a Republican picks one.  Over the years, Republican nominees have been more diverse in their views.  Last Democratic pick that was not an ideologue was Whizzer White (by Kennedy - over 50 years ago).

So, it is about keeping score... not necessarily what’s best for the country.

Gotcha

That would be idiotic if that’s what he meant.

Please advise which parts of the constitution somehow morphed in meaning apart from through the amendment process.

The asshats who call it a "living document" actually mean this: "We will interpret as our own beliefs and feelings dictate, not by what what meant and what was written".

That's not the direction I'm leaning.

There are some tweaking to stay current, and can't be taken literal word for word.

Just as local and state laws that need to be taken out or revised, and I'm not speaking from a partisan point of view.

Unbelievably there are Democrats calling for court-packing if they win the Presidency in 2020.  Making the case for it.  All while the GOP has the Presidency and the Senate.  #dumbasrocks

I'm not wrapped up in that area of the political "game", I really would like to see some forward moving progress and less debate on the spelling/pronunciation of tomato or potato.

Examples from the constitution?

There is a mechanism to amend it, also.

There’s no doubt that I need to study and review the constitution and the bill of rights. I have the Federalist Papers on my nightstand. Unfortunately I’ve got more pressing matter at hand.

I do intend to dive into this
