Can John Ehret (NOLA) pull the upset at West Monroe?

The athletic freaks from NOLA will make "another 5 hour trip" to West Monroe to war with the Rebels in a 5A semifinal match up.

West Monroe handled John Ehret in Week 1 (44-20) at West Monroe, but since then Ehret has won 12 in a row and playing some pretty solid football.

West Monroe hasn't given up a point in 3 playoff games...totally dominating.

Rebel Stadium is a tough venue to war in. They will fill up their side with 10,000 Rebel Fanatics while Ehret might get 500 to make the trip. West Monroe is smelling the Superdome. They haven't won a state title since 2009.

Should be interesting.

Since most everything here revolves around nj high school football John Ehret would #4 in NJ per calpreps.....and, this game might be considered an OOS game. "In order to be the best you have to play the best" thing. lol

Who are your top 3 teams in LA regardless of class?

That's really hard truthfully.

Similar to GA our best teams are spread out in several different classes and don't play each other in the playoffs.

My "gut" tells me "right now" it might be:

1-John Curtis (toughest overall schedule)

2-UHigh (beat Zachary and Catholic-BR)-Zachary is in the 5A semis and Catholic-BR will play Curtis in the DI Title game.

3-West Monroe (doesn't have that signature win besides John Ehret, and maybe McGill-Toolen, but have been dominating)

I think one of those 3 will be crowned King Bayou in 3 weeks.

Ehret will have to bring their A+ game to beat West Monroe this time around...  WM is playing as well as anyone in the state.  The Pats definitely can't afford to give the Rebs the short fields like the 1st meeting, everything about Ehret's Special Team play was just atrocious.  They couldn't field a kick or punt and they themselves couldn't get a punt off.  They have some athletes, good receivers and Mumford is a good QB, the O line just couldn't protect.  Their run game (other than Mumford) is none existent.

In all honesty, EA should have beaten Ehret last week.

2 things may come into play to help Ehret a bit, biggest factor is WM's leading rusher Cam Wright who has missed the last 2 weeks...  don't know if he'll be able to go this week.  2nd is the weather, right now 60% chance of rain/thunderstorms.

WM remembers what happened in the Semi's last year at Don Shows Field, think they'll be ready this time.

See a closer game, but not a different outcome...  Rebs' coaches have already seen this team in person  😎
