LOL hillgrove last night? THey gave up a Georgia state record 91 points to end last season. Their defense is pathetic. Cartersville is elite 4A. Buford is elite 5A. Class and depth matters. And don't let Kell (not an elite team) beat Tucker (ranked number 1 in 6A) today. This shit ain't just a coincidence anymore. It's happening a bit too often. Benedictine is also an elite 2A... won state last year.. they beat Glynn Academy, who is a #6-8 6A team... ELCA was state champ last year in 1A Private, they barely beat a pretty bad 5A team 21-14... Carrollton is one of those very good Top 4 in 5A , they beat a bad 7A Newnan team... Cedar Grove was 3A State Champ last year, they beat a Stephenson team that probably isnt Top 10 in 6A this year.. These smaller class teams are the best of the best their classes, beating middling higher class teams. Buford is a perennial power and Top 2-3 5A team, of course they are going to beat a non-Top 10 7A squad in Hillgrove. ECHS05 Posted August 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted August 19, 2017 I will say this.. The gap is closing Teams like Cartersville, Buford, Carrollton, Rome, etc... would be Top 7A teams... Benedictine would be a Top 5 6A team this year... as would GAC, Cedar Grove, etc... Put Cartersville, Rome, Buford, and Carrollton in 6A... and they probably take up 4 of the top 5 spots in 6A... I was always told that a team, no matter who it is, shouldn't beat a top 10 team from a higher classification. Obviously the numbers are against the team from the smaller classification, so when you take a team like......Peach County for instance, and they beat a top 10 team from 6A, then people wanna say, "Peach is an elite team....they're supposed to win that game."
