So speaking of Ukraine.  The big fear narrative is if Ukraine falls Russia will just continue to steam roll through Europe.  Well, after 2years of battling Ukraine, Russia hasn’t exactly knocked it out of the park.  Further, all the sanctions we’ve put on them have hardly destroyed their economy. If the US really wants to support Ukraine, we influence our NATO buddies to vote them in and then we are in a position obligated to really make a difference. If the US and our European coalition aren’t capable of setting things straight, what is the significance of NATO after all?  Do we just keep throwing money at the situation? I guess when you have an administration that is diplomatically inept, tossing dollars is the best we can do.
Taiwan is fortunate China hasn’t acted yet.  If they are smart, they’ll agree to a settlement with China and at least they’ll have peace of mind someone has their back.

NATO won't allow a country to join while they are in a war/conflict because of the implications for all the other nations. NATO has been a success. This war is going on 2 years due to NATO's intervention. Our European allies have given them a lot of equipment and intell. NATO has shown Putin-China and the rest of the world that it's for real and serves a great purpose and it should/would and could make any wanna-be world dictator think twice before acting. The addition of Finland and Sweden has been HUGE, two Russian bordering counties joining NATO has just made it that much stronger and respected. Putin screwed up big time. The so-called Republicans/Conservatives who are opposing giving $$ to Ukraine have forgotten what America stands for...BIG time. They're not real Republicans or Conservatives. They don't understand how the world works. This Vivek has no clue what he's talking about.

China hasn't attacked Taiwan because of American nuclear submarines...and they know the economic consequences they will feel if they start a war.

Some of this sounds good, but time will tell.  I agree Finland and Sweden joining is good, if they are willing to open up their checkbooks.

I don’t agree with the nuclear deterrent sub theory.  The US is not about to use nukes to stop China moving on Taiwan.  Not unless you want to see NYC, and LA vaporized in no time.   It’s just a matter of time before one of the subs or a nuclear carrier springs a leak.

And about the economic consequences, maybe you need to rethink that.  The sanctions on Russia haven’t had the impact all the experts predicted.  The recent supply chain fiasco due to Covid demonstrates that we don’t really understand how woven many of the worlds economies are into China.    Who do you think suffers more?
