Oklahoma - prep athletes will now have one "free" transfer

Social media comments seem split between the standard weeping and gnashing of teeth about the erosion of what high school sports is "supposed to be" and the cynical lot that say this has been a thing for years so might as well drive it more into the light. With the growth and evolution of the school choice movement I don't think administrators have a lot of choice but to adjust to the market accordingly.

Wonder if this will create a stir for a handful of star recruits in an area to join forces and “activate” (old cartoon flashback reference) for a title run and maybe create a new powerhouse in the OK Corral… or fire up a former powerhouse.

I'm curious how much this is already happening out there; could be a huge coincidence but it seems strange that just when Union and Jenks tail off a bit that ANOTHER Tulsa area school (Bill Bixby High) emerges as every bit the schoolyard bully those two were. Bixby was a good smaller program before their current run so one can't discount that stuff's happening organically there the timing just feels curious.

What will be interesting is if any of the larger OKC metro schools (Edmond and Norman schools specifically) are able to leverage this to put a dent in Tulsa's near 30-year reign over that top division.

Yea, wonder if Bixby enhanced their roster recently.  @Omaha Volany insight on this and future scope of Corral?

Tulsa World did this piece on Bixby's rise; essentially administration is patient with HC, gets some momentum in a smaller class, has some good fortune with families moving in, and now we're here.
