But those are a double edged sword. They need to get paid, yes. But there is a market for US Treasuries. Should China decide to scale back the nature of its current relationship with the USA and liquidate its holding of US Treasuries, it would have the same effect as the FED doing multiple Interest Rate Hikes all at the same time.
