Entertainer/Businessman and Malaysian Financier Indicted for Conspiring to Make and Conceal Foreign and Conduit Contributions During 2012 U.S. Presidential Election

A United States entertainer and businessman and a Malaysian financier were charged  in a four-count indictment unsealed today in the District of Columbia for conspiring to make and conceal foreign and conduit campaign contributions during the United States presidential election in 2012, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.

The U.S. Dept. of Justice is now investigating former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, author of the controversial Trump dossier, as it seeks to uncover the origins of the Russia probe that supported FBI warrants to spy on the Trump administration and initiated the two-year Mueller Investigation.

Michael E. Horowitz, Inspector General for the Dept. of Justice, is leading the investigation.

There’s a document that’s classified that I’m going to try to get unclassified,” Graham said in an interview on May 12. “The bottom line is that the dossier has never been independently confirmed. It was used to get a warrant [by the FBI]. They knew the author of the dossier was on the Democrat Party payroll… There’s really no verification, other than media reports that were generated by reporters that received the dossier.”
