Perspective...

Kody Russey (Burleson) set the deadlift record in Texas with a deadlift of 740 lbs in 2016. Russey was in the 275 lb class (big boy).

"Kody Russey, who will continue his football career at Louisiana Tech, won a state title in the 275 class with a total lift of 1,925 pounds. He squatted 720 pounds, bench pressed 465 pounds and deadlifted 740 pounds. Russey’s 740-pound deadlift set a new state record while his total lift was 10 pounds shy of the state record set in 2014."

and yes. Hayden Wills does play football at Dutchtown.....LB and DE.

They allow sumo stance deadlifts at state meets? Didnt know that, of course I dont pay much attention to the sport in HS.

Thats a lot of weight though. My squat is the weak point in the 3 main lifts.

Sumo = more quads

Conventional = more back

Secondly, you can take whatever stance suits you the most so long as your feet stay inside the plates. There are no rules regarding how close or how far apart your feet have to be. If you want, you can put your toes to the plates. If you want, your heels can touch. Most people either take a very wide sumo stance or a conventional stance which typically features the heels about a foot apart.
