DBP vs DPC

Friday

No. 5 Don Bosco (1-2) at No 3. DePaul (1-1), 7 p.m.

Story line: DePaul already picked up a big win when it defeated Paramus Catholic in Week 1. Now the Spartans will try to keep it going by knocking off Don Bosco. The Spartans have looked strong so far, with QB Ta'Quan Roberson running a formidable offense and LB Vinnie DePalma leading a tough defense. Don Bosco hasn't quite found its groove yet. The Ironmen's only win came against Seton Hall Prep. Its offense has struggled to move the ball efficiently, although the Ironmen's defense has looked good.

►Staff pick: DePaul

I'm not going to make excuses.....they did hold the score against SFA to 7-0 for a good part of the game. Offense was stagnant against SHP, mainly because they started a soph at center and moved the snr center to LT. They moved the snr center back to center, put the 6th man at LT and were really moving the ball, plus TWO goal line stands. Against Byrnes the offense was clicking, until that "pass" at Byrnes' 15 yd line...it just unraveled after that.....They were running the ball down their throats in the 2nd half (like STA2 at west point), they had 2 plays to get a 1st down (4yds) and could've used the "big" package that was working earlier....

I agree with your point that the defense of DBP is good. And your right they did keep the score to 7-0 against SFA but the offense wasnt doing much of anything against SFA. And yes DBP should have keep running it down the throat of Byrnes but cant changed what happened there. SJR came up with a score of 30 for DBP against DPC who held PC to what 13 points? Now ill see PC tonight to know if their offense is good like it was against AW or DPC defense stepped up and shut them down without Clark. DPC im sure will focus in on Berger tonight and make the Qb throw the ball. And the center of DBP hasnt done any favors for the QB with the low snaps

Old school Bosco under Toal might be an expression heard many times before this year is over.
