There's another college realignment in the works and it involves lnvolves the Big 12 and the Big10....

Well...

The Big 10 is trying to get Both Oklahoma and Texas to join them...

And as you may guess it has alot to do with $$$$$$...

Basically the BIG12 ain't putting out the money...

Texas,Oklahoma and West Virginia  are pretty much carrying the conference in terms of money...

But that ain't enough...

The BIG10 is currently eyeing Texas and Oklahoma and could be adding them to the conference soon...

If that happened the conference would look like this:

East:

Ohio State

Rutgers

Michigan State

Illinois

Penn State

Indiana

Purdue

Maryland

West:

Michigan

Oklahoma

Texas

Northwestern

Minnesota

Wisconsin

Iowa

Nebraska

Id bring in WVU and delegate Illinois or Rutgers to a FBS

although Illinois prominent in B ball

That would be dumb in my opinion. But hey WV in the big 12 is dumb so anything can happen in college football

Guys it is all about television and following.  Texas has the population and following while OU has a good following.  Rutgers and Maryland are in the Big Ten for their footprint nothing to do with their athletic accomplishments.

The Oklahoma legislature will probably block this if it cuts Oklahoma State out.

I always thought Texas and OK State should go to the SEC.  OU and Notre Dame to the Big Ten but we know Notre Dame is not giving up what they have.

Nope...Swap Illinois and Michigan, then you'll have the right set-up...Michigan is East of Illinois, and they'll keep them with tOSU and Sparty...And they'll keep Illinois with Northwestern!!!

And Nebraska could never beat Texas.

That’s because Texas always found some lucky bs way to beat Nebraska. Bringing back the Nebraska/Oklahoma rivalry would be nice, though. In their heydays in the 70s-80s Switzer had a 12-5 record against Osborne.

You would have to keep Michigan in the east and move Illinois out west. The Big10 would be the new power conference if this happens, but I doubt it will.

If by some miracle it does I could see the SEC adding the top ACC teams to make their own power conference. Lol
