Adam Kurkjian
Massachusetts 2003: Mansfield (37); Everett (44) 2005: Brockton (85) 2007: Everett (59) 2009: Xaverian (91) 2010: Everett (96) 2014: Xaverian (42) 2015: Xaverian (45) 03 Mansfield was a good HS team for New England but not even necessarily the best team in the region. You could have made a good case for Everett, Acton-Boxboro, New Britain (Conn.), or even Longmeadow that year. Everett would not have fared very well against a team that could spread it out with the type of speed you see in the elite states. But in terms of packing it in and mashing you for four quarters, they could've beat a lot of teams in the Northeast. 05 Brockton was not as good as the 04 team which had two losses. Very good defensively, but too many close calls against average teams to consider a ranking like that. Still, could have beaten a lot of teams in the Northeast. 07 Everett was good but would have had the same type of mismatch as the 03 team. Struggled to contain Dartmouth's Jordan Todman in the title game, and there are a lot of teams around the country with 3-4 guys like that. 09 Xaverian was like a lot of teams on this list. Big, physical, but not especially fast. A team with a good line and burners on the outside would have handled them. They could get in a rock fight and beat teams, though. 10 Everett was more of the spread, up-tempo team, but not as talented as some of their other squads. 14 and 15 Xaverian weren't 42 and 45 worthy but were very, very good. Extremely physical on both lines, deep, well coached. 14 team was more talented but 15 team was better. Defense gave up 41 points in 12 games and maybe half that against their starters. 17 Everett team was better than most of the teams on this list, maybe all (that is debated heavily here). Scholarship kids at every positional unit with high-end talent that is already performing well at the next level. Most of the points scored on the defense were against the second unit. Everett coach did not run up the score. He'd tell refs to throw a flag if the Crimson Tide scored a TD in a rout. If they wanted, they could have averaged 60-70 a game. Total wagon. Really wish we could have seen them play an OOS squad but it never happened.

Good work.....not being picky, but some of the teams look the same though. ☺️

Servite had to beat the hell out of some very good teams to get their spots
Rufus69
For Georgia...I'm pretty sure Marietta is the only team that's cracked the illustrious Max Prep Top 100. EVER... Rufus>>

Ok... I could be wrong... But Im pretty sure they are the same thing & MP only recently started putting out their own Top 100. If I had to say why JC is 77 on one & 128 at CalPreps... Is because CP recently started the state scaling and thats changed every ranking a bit in every year. MaxPreps might not have changed or updated it on their website to reflect the changes. Again, I could be wrong.
