Point is 49ers lost.... The 49ers are mortal. And they will probably lose to the saints... Because I know Block is a few cards short of a full deck and thinks that only the saints can lose games they shouldn't (Oh the irony...) Then @Baltimore, then later @Seattle. If JG does not play better and stop trying to give the ball away, won’t see the NFCCG, let alone the SB. There is a lot of football yet to be played. As in a lot of cases, a loss will help this team. Looking at the game with Seattle, you have to read between the lines to get a more complete analysis. Niners had two returning lineman coming off of serious injuries. Both were way out of shape and a step slow. Seattle's D took advantage of that in a big way. But that won't be the case when those lineman regain their form. JG was under a lot of pressure and his receivers dropped too many balls. Niners are young and learning their way. Barring injuries, they should mature and be competitive at the end. Seattle was really fortunate with the turnovers, otherwise they would not have won.

Injuries, to's, etc. played a big part in that loss, and yet they still could have won the game but the backup fg kicker choked. Seattle is probably at this point more football hardened because they have played in more competitive games and are sharper at this point. Yet niners still should have won that game. I wouldn't read too much into the outcome and wait a little more to pronounce judgement. Or should we read a whole lot into Patriots and Saints blowout losses also ? Unlikely to score a TD on opening drive, but could have won with a FG after the INT. Going first is not a benefit in a game with good defenses now. Lost twice to a Pats team last year they should have beaten. Basically one WR and a shell of Gronk. Their defense is awful.

That's simply false..... winning the coin toss in OT is a huge advantage. Just ask the patriots in the Falcons Super bowl. Stats prove the winner of coin toss In OT wins 59.8% of the time. Further, the team that wins the coin toss has won the game 34.4% of the time on the first possession.
