Let's see...

(We'll omit Colorado since that was technically 1990.  We'll also ignore Bama's "easy wins" against teams like Temple, Chattanooga, Tulane, etc.)

Miami beat who in 91 to win thier part of the NC?? (NEB)

1992 - Grats to Bama.  Washington and Florida State did ya dirty work for ya.

Florida State beat who in 1993???  It wasn't Bama in that game that's for sure. (Nebraska)

Colorado was 11-1 and couldn't play in the title game thanks to...ya guessed it...NEB.

So yeah...Outside of 92.  It was basically the State of Florida and the Big 8 Champ going at it...with a sprinkle of Washington.

You can list records if you wish...In that span in the 90s...SEC was playing catch up.

SEC had 3 titles in the 90's as many as any conference.

In 1992 Alabama was the best team by a mile. FSU has their chance.

In 93 Nebraska was screwed vs FSU they were going to give Bowden a title no matter what.

Colorado 1/2 a title and Alabama beat them in 1991.

I'm sorry...How many of those SEC titles were in 91-94 again?

I mean...we could put 3/4 Titles for Big 8/12 in the 90s if we want to play technicalities.

"Sure he didn't."

Langham signs with an agent, declares for the draft, changes his mind.  Comes back and plays (Bama had to forfeit 9 wins but we'll let that part slide.)

But yeah... Stallings knew nothing.

Do you not understand Stallings is the most decent coach in college football history. Look at the awards he has won from football to children with special needs.  This info did not come out till late in the season. Langham lied and we got popped.

Saban said Stallings has done more for special need students than anyone in the state of Alabama.

92.

National titles by the big 8 equaled the SEC with the total.

Colorado 1/2

Nebraska 2 1/2

Now both are terrible

What does his off-the-field accomplishments (while respectable) have to do with his 4 major violations that the NCAA was being nice about "thier mistake" on.

November 1996: NCAA Infractions Committee admits making a major mistake in its handling of the Langham case, publicly apologizes to a school official wrongly accused of ethical lapse. Stallings retires days later due to his sons health, setting the stage for the hiring of defensive coordinator Mike DuBose as head coach.

My other post didn't post???  I quoted this.

Hence the NCAA being easy on them for "thier mistake."

Then came DuBose...no comments needed.

I will admit DuBose let things run wild and let the boosters run the show.

Do you know how bogus ACT scores even work for these players?

Most idiots think somebody takes the test for the players.

Anyways....We're off track. DuBose should even have popped up in the conversation...I digress.

The main thing was you saying Stallings was better than most coaches in the country during his time period.

Over coaches like Tom Osborne, Don James, Mike McCartney, Lou Holtz, etc?

Oregon hasn't been around contending as long as WVU.

They're getting close though... Probably would have one if they kept Chip and if not for the rule changes.

Quit trying to bash the PAC-12. 😁

I'm not bashing I want the Pac12 to BE better....

Outside of Georgia and A&M screw the SEC....

I dont do conference humping but damn the SEC is overhyped
